The White House has lost all of its former prestige. And it’s only getting worse.
And now Congress grilled a top Biden official for being caught in this disgusting act.
Rep. Darrell Issa has taken sharp aim at Secretary of State Antony Blinken, criticizing the State Department for reportedly organizing therapy sessions to console employees distressed by President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory.
“I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated by the normal functioning of American democracy through the provision of government-funded mental health counseling because Kamala Harris was not elected President of the United States,” Issa (R-Calif.) wrote in a pointed letter to Blinken last week.
Issa’s criticism follows a report from the Washington Free Beacon revealing that after Trump’s victory, the State Department allegedly held two therapy sessions for staff, with one described as a “cry session.”
An email to agency employees promoted another session titled an “insightful webinar” offering stress management strategies to cope with “challenging times.”
“Change is a constant in our lives, but it can often bring about stress and uncertainty,” the email reportedly stated.
“Join us for an insightful webinar where we delve into effective stress management techniques to help you navigate these challenging times. This session will provide tips and practical strategies for managing stress and maintaining your well-being.”
Issa, unimpressed by these measures, called the reported sessions “disturbing” and questioned whether taxpayer dollars should fund counseling for employees upset by an election outcome.
He also expressed concern over the potential impact on the department’s ability to execute Trump’s policy priorities.
“Nonpartisan government officials should not be suffering a personal meltdown over the result of a free and fair election,” Issa stated in his letter.
While acknowledging the importance of mental health, he demanded answers about how many such sessions had been held, how much they cost, and whether more were planned.
Issa also raised a critical issue about the readiness of some employees to carry out Trump’s vision for the State Department.
“The mere fact that the Department is hosting these sessions raises significant questions about the willingness of its personnel to implement the lawful policy priorities that the American people elected President Trump to pursue and implement,” he wrote.
He didn’t mince words, suggesting that staff unable to align with Trump’s policies should consider stepping down.
“The Trump Administration has a mandate for wholesale change in the foreign policy arena, and if foreign service officers cannot follow through on the American people’s preferences, they should resign and seek a political appointment in the next Democrat administration,” Issa declared.
As of now, the State Department has not responded to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
This silence leaves many wondering whether the department will address these concerns or remain committed to what Issa calls an inappropriate use of federal resources.
