Democrat Congresswoman gets utterly humiliated for making the dumbest claim ever

The Left’s relationship with the truth is spotty at best. But this is just ridiculous.

Now a Democrat Congresswoman got utterly humiliated for making the dumbest claim ever.

Wasserman Schultz Dismisses Trump’s Achievements

On Thursday, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) appeared on CNN’s News Central, where host Sara Sidner pressed her on how Democrats plan to counter President Donald Trump’s second-term successes.

Sidner highlighted Trump’s accomplishments, stating, “Here are some things that have happened: Gas prices down. Economic indicators are decent. Brand new job report shows that’s much better than expected and border crossings are down,” and noted the likely passage of Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.”

Instead of engaging with these points, Wasserman Schultz deflected, launching a sharp critique of the bill and downplaying a robust June jobs report, framing it as misleading.

Her response sidestepped Trump’s tangible gains, raising questions about Democrats’ ability to mount a coherent opposition strategy.

Downplaying Economic Gains

Wasserman Schultz dismissed the positive economic indicators cited by Sidner, particularly the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ report of 147,000 new nonfarm payroll jobs in June, surpassing economists’ expectations of 106,000. The report also included upward revisions of 16,000 jobs for April and May combined.

Rather than acknowledging this growth, she claimed, “The overwhelming majority of those jobs are actually government jobs and education jobs that look to be more like substitute teachers. There are really not many jobs in that job support that they can point to that are in the private market.”

Criticizing the “Big, Beautiful Bill”

Wasserman Schultz sharply criticized Trump’s sweeping legislative package, calling it a “big, ugly bill” and claiming, “Republicans caved, Trump lied and people will die.”

She argued the bill would harm vulnerable groups, stating, “This bill does kick 17 million people off of their health care,” affecting “veterans and the elderly, the disabled, and children,” and cut nutrition assistance for 4 million, including 31,000 in her district. She further asserted, “70,000 will lose Medicaid,” and described the bill as “incredibly unpopular” for prioritizing “the wealthiest, most fortunate Americans” while raising the debt ceiling by $5 trillion.

Her alarmist rhetoric, however, overlooks the bill’s provisions to extend tax cuts and boost defense and immigration enforcement, which have garnered significant Republican support and reflect Trump’s focus on economic and border security.

Strategic Implications for Democrats

Wasserman Schultz’s remarks, including her claim that the bill “explodes the deficit” for tax breaks, reflect a Democratic strategy to frame Trump’s agenda as harmful to the middle class.

Yet her dismissal of the jobs report as “hollow” and her focus on the bill’s potential downsides without addressing Trump’s successes, such as a 93.1% reduction in illegal border crossings in June 2025, suggest a disconnect in countering the administration’s momentum.
