GOP Senators slammed Tim Walz in a move with huge ramifications

Republicans are done playing games. And the walls are closing in.

Now GOP Senators slammed Tim Walz in a move with huge ramifications.

GOP Senators Rally to Dismantle Fraud Rings Flourishing Under Democrat Watch

A group of Senate Republicans is forming a dedicated task force to aggressively pursue fraudsters siphoning off billions in federal dollars, spotlighting the massive Minnesota scandal that has exposed lax oversight in Democrat strongholds.

Led by HELP Committee Chair Bill Cassidy (R-La.), the seven-member panel aims to safeguard taxpayer money from abuse in health, education, and labor programs—areas where federal funds have allegedly been funneled through fake daycare centers and clinics, primarily involving Minnesota’s Somali community.

This move builds on heightened scrutiny from the Trump administration, including ICE deployments and probes into potential terror links, underscoring how Democrat-led states like Minnesota under Gov. Tim Walz have allowed such schemes to balloon unchecked.

“Our tax dollars are supposed to help American families, not line the pockets of fraudsters,” Cassidy said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “HELP Committee Republicans are committed to rooting out this fraud and ensuring Americans’ tax dollars are used responsibly.”

The nearly six-year investigation estimates up to $9 billion stolen nationwide through these fraudulent fronts, with most charged individuals from the Somali population—prompting actions like ending Temporary Protected Status and federal probes into al-Shabab connections.

Three-Pronged Assault on Waste: Health, Education, and Labor Under Fire

The task force divides into specialized subgroups to tackle fraud head-on: Sens. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) and Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) heading health; Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) and Jon Husted (R-Ohio) on education; and Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) plus Tim Scott (R-S.C.) focusing on labor and pensions.

This structured approach comes after Cassidy’s earlier demand for accountability from Walz, including detailed records on childcare facility inspections, fake enrollments, and shell businesses—threatening to cut federal funding if ignored.

The scandal’s resurgence this year has galvanized GOP efforts, with the White House amplifying enforcement against what many see as systemic failures in blue states prioritizing sanctuary policies over fiscal responsibility.

Democrats’ Shutdown Gambit Shields Minnesota’s Fraud Ecosystem

The task force launch coincides with escalating tensions, as Senate Democrats under Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) threaten to block DHS funding—risking a government shutdown—following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by a border patrol agent in Minnesota.

While Republicans like Cassidy call for a full investigation into the incident, critics view the Dem obstruction as a bid to derail broader enforcement tied to the fraud probe.

Walz’s recent announcement not to seek re-election on Jan. 5, 2026, amid this heat only highlights the mounting pressure on Democrat governance that has enabled these vulnerabilities.
