Mitch McConnell betrayed conservatives with this one gift to Biden

Mitch McConnell

Many Republicans have rightfully called McConnell a RINO. Now he’s showing just how far gone he truly is.

And Mitch McConnell betrayed conservatives with this one gift to Biden.

Joe Biden’s number is finally up. His decades of crime are finally being revealed to the American public, and it’s not pretty.

You would think that with such airtight evidence, it would be a no-brainer to impeach him.

Trump was impeached for far less, and he didn’t even commit the acts they accused him of.

But hold your horses, Mitch McConnell thinks it wouldn’t be fair to impeach Biden.

McConnell (R-KY) has urged House Republicans to avoid impeaching President Joe Biden.

In an interview published Tuesday by the New York Times, McConnell stated that he does not want to perpetuate the impeachment cycle that Democrats began two years ago when they impeached former President Trump on trumped-up allegations.

“I said two years ago, when we had not one but two impeachments, that once we go down this path, it incentivizes the other side to do the same thing,” McConnell said.

“Impeachment ought to be rare,” he added. “This is not good for the country.”

The problem with this view is that it completely misses the entirety of the past seven years.

It’s all fine and well to believe impeachment should be used sparingly, but your political opponents abusing the process shouldn’t prevent truly guilty presidents from getting the axe.

It’s not some first-come, first-served act where we have to wait a few years between impeachments, and McConnell’s suggestion that it is plays right into Biden’s hands.

Maybe that’s by design…

On the other hand, other Republicans have the exact opposite view.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has indicated that he is willing to initiate impeachment procedures.

“I think there’s enough proof out there that this Biden family needs to come forward and show there wasn’t a pay-to-play,” McCarthy said recently.

McCarthy went on to say that impeachment “empowers Congress, Republicans and Democrats of their committee, to be able to get the information if somebody fights them from providing it to them.”

Since the power to impeach resides with the U.S. House of Representatives, it looks like good ‘ol Mitch will just have to wait and see what happens.
