No one commands attention like former President Donald Trump. He’s completely changed politics.
And now Donald Trump has shocked the world with this nuclear truth bomb.
Like it or not, former President Donald Trump is going to continue to dominate American news for the rest of this year. Ever since 2015, Donald Trump has been the one to control the direction of narratives coming out of the political scene. No one else even comes close.
Simply put, when he has something important to say, everyone listens whether they like the man or absolutely despise him.
Late last night, Mr. Trump took to his Truth Social account to gloat about a win against the GOP establishment that he’s taking credit for. The win? A fake “Republican” embarrassingly losing to their Democrat opponent by a margin of about five points.
Mazi Melesa Pilip, a former Republican who switched to the Democrat party in 2012, was running in the special election to replace the expelled George Santos from New York’s 3rd Congressional District.
In December last year, a group of Republican officials voted on selecting Mazi Melesa Pilip as the nominee to run in the special election which was scheduled for early February of 2024. Many conservatives were surprised to learn that she is still a registered Democrat ever since 2012, though she claims to be a Republican according to her views.
The reality, though, is she is in no way conservative or a true Republican. Most of her beliefs are far too close to that of the radical Left for her to be considered anything remotely Republican.
On abortion, she says she is “pro-life” but says she doesn’t think anyone should be involved in the decision to have an abortion except the mother. That, of course, isn’t the pro-life position. Anyone who’s truly pro-life knows that arguing that only the mother should have a say in whether an innocent baby in the womb gets a chance at life is simply imbecilic. Pro-life means you don’t want an innocent person to be murdered, and speaking out about that is a part of being pro-life. Clearly, Pilip doesn’t know anything about this.
On guns, Pilip once again showed just how much her views are truly moronic and lacking anything resembling Republicanism or conservatism. She once said she thought Americans shouldn’t be allowed to own AR-15 weapons, even though such a ban would be a violation of the Second Amendment according to the Supreme Court, because Americans shouldn’t be allowed to own any weapons more powerful than a standard issue police weapon.
Pilip clearly doesn’t know her American history because that’s precisely what the Founding Fathers had in mind, actually. Everyday Americans should be able to have weapons like the AR-15 to defend against government tyranny or foreign invasion. That’s literally what the Second Amendment is all about.
On top of all that, she has voiced continued support for funding the proxy war in Ukraine against Russia at the expense of American taxpayers, no matter how high the bill may become.
In light of all this, Donald Trump railed against her nomination when it was announced and made it clear to his supporters that he did not want them voting for her and putting yet another RINO in Congress that would backstab American conservatives once again. We already have too many of those.
Well that’s exactly what happened, and in Trump’s Truth Social post he eviscerated Pilip and her embarrassing loss.
“Republicans just don’t learn, but maybe she was still a Democrat?” former President Donald Trump said. “I have an almost 99% Endorsement Success Rate in Primaries, and a very good number in the General Elections, as well, but just watched this very foolish woman, Mazi Melesa Pilip, running in a race where she didn’t endorse me and tried to ‘straddle the fence,’ when she would have easily WON if she understood anything about MODERN DAY politics in America.”
He then noted how the majority of the Republican party voters are going to support Donald Trump and listen to when he says a particular candidate is bad news. He argued that this is what happened in the case of Pilip.
Donald Trump also noted how he believes that the winner of this special election can be “easily” beaten come November this year.
It’s hard to ignore how Donald Trump clearly has a point here. Pilip must have turned off a ton of Trump supporters and true conservatives who likely saw her record and wanted to vomit at the thought of voting for her.
With just a stronger Republican and a true conservative candidate, the race for New York’s 3rd Congressional District may be a totally different ball game come general election time.
