Assassin Tyler Robinson’s messages are released for everyone to see

Kirk was cut down in cold blood. And now we’re getting a look into the sordid mind of the man responsible.

Because assassin Tyler Robinson’s messages are released for everyone to see.

Tyler Robinson’s Indictment for Charlie Kirk’s M*rder

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Orem, Utah, was indicted for the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10 at Utah Valley University.

The indictment details a text exchange with his live-in partner, Lance Twiggs, less than three hours after the shooting, where Robinson confessed to planning the attack for a week. He instructed Twiggs to check under his keyboard, where a note was found stating, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”

Robinson faces seven charges, including aggravated m*rder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice. Text messages reveal he used his grandfather’s .30-06-caliber hunting rifle, which he hid in bushes after changing clothes but could not retrieve due to police presence.

Robinson expressed regret for involving Twiggs, who has not been charged and is cooperating with authorities.

Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty, potentially by firing squad, as affirmed by Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who stated, “We will try you, and we will hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law.”

Evidence of Premeditation and Confession

The indictment provides compelling evidence of Robinson’s premeditation and direct admission of guilt.

His text to Twiggs, “I am. I’m sorry,” in response to a question about whether he k*lled Kirk, coupled with the note under his keyboard, confirms his intent and execution of the plan.

Additional messages show Robinson’s concern about losing his grandfather’s rifle, stating, “I’m worried what my old man would do if I didn’t bring back grandpas rifle,” indicating his awareness of the crime’s consequences. The rifle, recovered by police, and bullet casings inscribed with phrases like “hey fascist! CATCH!” and lyrics from “Bella Ciao,” suggest an ideological motive.

Prosecutors noted Robinson’s “leftist ideology” and recent online radicalization, though specific details about his motivations remain under investigation. Twiggs’ immediate questioning of Robinson’s confession and cooperation with authorities clarify his non-involvement, while the recovered physical evidence strengthens the case against Robinson.

Rising Political Violence in Context

The assassination of Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative figure known for his “Prove Me Wrong” debates, reflects a troubling increase in politically motivated violence across the United States.

Robinson’s alleged act, executed from a rooftop during a public event with 3,000 attendees, follows other recent incidents, such as the April arson attack on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s mansion and the September 12 attempted bombing of a FOX 13 News vehicle in Salt Lake City.

These events highlight a growing trend of targeting public figures and media outlets, escalating tensions in a polarized climate. The ideological markings on Robinson’s bullet casings and his reported radicalization underscore how online echo chambers can fuel violent actions, threatening democratic discourse and public safety.

The swift indictment and pursuit of severe penalties in this case reflect an effort to deter such acts and restore trust in civil engagement, as political violence continues to challenge societal stability.
