“I am pleased to announce this morning that the Department of Education will soon issue new guidance protecting the right to prayer in our public schools,” Trump declared, sparking enthusiastic applause from attendees.
Trump highlighted the importance of religious liberty by sharing the stories of students like Hannah Allen from Texas, disciplined for organizing a prayer group for an injured classmate, and 12-year-old Shay Encinas from California, who faced pressure to read material conflicting with his beliefs.
By inviting Encinas to share his experience, Trump emphasized the need to protect young Americans’ rights to live according to their faith, framing it as a defense of personal freedom and constitutional values.

Throughout his speech, Trump presented a vision of a nation strengthened by its religious heritage, suggesting that faith is a cornerstone of national resilience. “When faith gets stronger, as it is right now — we’re having a very good period of time after some rough years — good things happen for our country,” he said.
