Donald Trump can’t believe who just came to his rescue

The attacks on Trump are only getting worse. He’s taking hits from all angles.

That’s why Donald Trump was utterly surprised by who came to his rescue.

The mainstream media has a long history now of taking Donald Trump’s words out of context or outright lying about what he’s said. They will do anything to demonize the man and prevent his message from getting across to Americans the way it was intended to from his own lips.

Most recently, this has included the way the media is claiming that Donald Trump wants to literally execute Liz Cheney, when that’s not what he was saying at all in his comments about the Cheneys. What Trump was saying was that Liz Cheney is a war-hawk but only because it’s convenient for her to be one because there’s not a foreign nation out to ravage her home country.

Bill Maher Critiques Media Coverage of Trump’s Comments on Liz Cheney

HBO host Bill Maher recently took aim at media outlets for their portrayal of former President Donald Trump’s comments regarding Liz Cheney, the former Republican Representative from Wyoming. During a forum hosted by Tucker Carlson, Trump accused Cheney of consistently pushing for war and suggested that her foreign policy views might change if she had guns “trained on her” at some point in her life. Maher argued that reports claiming Trump wanted Cheney executed were misleading.

“I woke up today to the headline that Trump had called for a firing squad for Liz Cheney, and this is what I really don’t like about the media,” Maher said during a panel discussion on Overtime, a webcast following his main show, Real Time with Bill Maher. He emphasized, “No, he didn’t … you don’t have to move me to not like Donald Trump.”

Podcaster Michael Moynihan echoed Maher’s sentiments, pointing out, “He says so many sh*tty things, why do you have to do that?” This response came as Maher highlighted articles from major outlets like The Washington Post and CNN that suggested Trump was wishing for Cheney to meet a violent end.

Maher further elaborated on the media’s portrayal, saying, “Just to be clear, this is exactly what hippies always said. This is exactly what peaceniks always said. This is ‘Fortunate Son’ the song. It’s like, you know what? It’s very easy to sit in your building and send young men to die.”

While Maher affirmed his disdain for Trump, he insisted on the importance of truthful reporting. “I don’t like Donald Trump,” he stated. “Don’t lie to me and tell me he wants her in front of a firing squad. He was saying something that, by the way, if it came out of the mouth, some of it, not the stupid part, again, sounds like what hippies used to say.”

Democratic Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland chimed in, acknowledging that the media coverage was “ridiculous and absurd.” However, he raised a provocative question: when has Trump ever “criticized a war hawk the way a hippie did?”

Moynihan also pointed out the potential fallout from such media narratives, noting that they provide ammunition for Trump’s supporters.

“It’s counterproductive,” he argued. “I mean the number of Trump people you talk to who talk about the media and giving them any ammunition like this… I mean, I saw headlines, chyron on television this morning saying that Donald Trump had said that Liz Cheney should be executed. I mean, at the beginning of that kind of rambling, incoherent thing, he said give her a weapon, which is not typically something you do to someone you’re going to execute.”

Many Americans feel as though this is an election that’s being represented by two candidates who are on opposite ends of the “war” question, with Kamala Harris representing the 2000s Bush-era war-hawk politics. Donald Trump on the other hand representing an anti-war, anti-establishment movement that is sick and tired of the international forever wars and regime-change wars.

Former Democrat Representative from Hawaii, Tulsi Gabbard, has made her transition to becoming a Republican very public and her number one reason is the issue of war. She contends that the Democrat Party of today is the Party of war-mongering and the D.C. political class.

This is made evident by the fact that Kamala Harris has been parading around Liz Cheney on the campaign trail as a reason for voters to cast their ballots for her over Donald Trump. It really wasn’t that long ago when Democrats would have considered the entire Cheney family as politically toxic, but that’s not the case anymore.
