He’s wasting no time at all. Trump is in a tough spot with only one decision to make.
That’s why Donald Trump’s state of emergency declaration has taken everyone by surprise.
Donald Trump on the campaign trail said that a lot of things would be happening very fast at the beginning of his second term. He even claimed that many big achievements would be accomplished before he even stepped foot in the Oval Office to officially begin his second term as President of the United States. Quite a statement and a bet on yourself to make, but it’s one Donald Trump made.
Some of this has come true already. Trump’s team did successfully negotiate a peace deal between Israel and Hamas that has led to the release of hostages who have been held in capture by the radical terrorists since October 7th of 2023. Even Donald Trump’s haters have had a hard time disagreeing with the idea that he actually stayed true to his word on that particular campaign promise.
Another campaign promise he made was that he would be working to make America energy independent within the first year of his second administration. He says that a full 360-degree approach to energy production is necessary for the United States to not only become energy independent, but also energy dominant around the entire globe. That includes utilizing all forms of energy from nuclear energy to fossil fuels to their maximum.
Apparently, Donald Trump already has a card up his sleeve that he’s going to be playing right from the beginning of his tenure as POTUS. He wants to utilize an emergency declaration to have the executive authority to be able to back pedal on the Joe Biden administration policies that he and his team say are only hurting America. That way, they can prepare to implement new policies that will help America produce more clean energy than ever before.
President-Elect Donald Trump to Declare Energy Emergency, Roll Back Biden-Era Policies
In a bold move that promises to reshape the U.S. energy landscape, President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly set to declare an energy emergency upon his inauguration on Monday, according to Bloomberg News. This declaration, expected to be a central feature of his early presidency, would help facilitate his goals of achieving “energy dominance” and reversing the policies implemented by the Biden administration, particularly those related to climate change and energy production.
While the exact details of how Trump plans to utilize the emergency declaration remain unclear, analysts suggest several key actions he is likely to pursue. These include expanding oil and gas exploration on federally-controlled lands, dismantling the climate regulations put in place by the Biden administration, and altering the ways in which electricity is generated and transmitted across the country. Trump is also expected to lift restrictions on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, which were imposed by the Biden administration, and to roll back the last-minute ban on future oil and gas drilling across 625 million acres of federally-controlled waters.
The energy emergency declaration would be a fulfillment of a promise Trump made during his campaign to prioritize energy independence and bolster the fossil fuel industry. It represents a sharp departure from President Biden’s emphasis on combating climate change through regulation and the promotion of green energy.
BREAKING: Trump to declare national emergency to give him executive powers

By invoking a state of emergency, Trump would gain access to a range of special powers typically reserved for extraordinary situations such as terrorist attacks or natural disasters. These powers, which number up to 150, would give the new administration significant leeway to act swiftly and decisively on energy policy.
One of the most significant aspects of this shift in policy would be the rollback of key regulations from the Biden administration. Among the targets for repeal are stringent fuel economy and tailpipe emissions standards for vehicles, which critics have argued amount to an implicit mandate for electric vehicle adoption. By undoing these regulations, Trump hopes to foster a more energy-friendly environment that encourages domestic production and reduces reliance on foreign energy sources.
Daniel Turner, president and CEO of Power the Future, a pro-energy advocacy group, voiced strong support for Trump’s planned actions. “With President Trump behind them, our energy workers are ready to deliver oil, natural gas, and coal at massive levels, which will make energy affordable and reliable to millions of homes across the country,” Turner said in a statement. “Immediate and decisive action is what is needed to begin to repair the damage of the last four years of failure and put our country on the road to American energy dominance, and that’s exactly what President Trump has done.”
Beyond energy policy, Trump is expected to take action on several other key areas shortly after his swearing-in. These include a crackdown on illegal immigration, curbing telework for federal employees, and other moves to shift the direction of U.S. governance following the conclusion of the Biden administration.
As the Trump administration takes shape, its early days in office will likely be marked by a series of executive actions aimed at undoing much of the progress made by the Biden administration on environmental and energy issues. With a renewed focus on energy independence, Trump’s presidency promises to chart a new course for the U.S. energy sector, with significant implications for both domestic policy and the global energy market.
President Trump: "We're going to terminate the Green New Scam."
"Why aren't we creating great energy plants, great sources of energy, instead of playing this game with wind that is ruining everything, killing all your birds, destroying the fields… It's a green scam."

If made official, the executive emergency declaration would also give Donald Trump authority to make executive decisions regarding certain U.S. border and immigration policies. Reporters have indicated that there will also be a specific emergency for the state of the U.S. southern border with Mexico as well.
