The Democrats just want Joe to go away. He’s a stain on their party.
But now Joe Biden’s embarrassed himself in public yet again with this insane gaffe.
Biden’s Bumbling Public Appearances Are Sinking Democrats’ Chances
Joe Biden’s recent public outings are proving to be a growing liability for the Democratic Party, as the former president’s repeated missteps and verbal flubs draw unwanted attention. On Friday, at a Memorial Day event in Delaware, Biden faltered while attempting to recite the iconic opening of the Declaration of Independence, a moment that encapsulates the ongoing concerns about his public performances. This was his first major speech since his personal office announced a prostate cancer diagnosis on May 18, and it did little to inspire confidence in his ability to project strength or coherence.
During the Delaware event, Biden struggled to deliver one of the most recognizable lines in American history. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created equal, endowed by their Creator, with certain unalienable rights, life, liberty, pursuit of ha — we made it!” he shouted. “That’s who we are! That’s what makes America the most unique nation in the world. Literally, not figuratively.” The abrupt pivot and awkward delivery left many in the audience perplexed, and the moment quickly spread across social media, fueling criticism that Biden’s appearances are doing more harm than good for his party.
This isn’t the first time Biden has stumbled over this particular line. During a 2020 campaign stop in Texas, he similarly faltered, saying, “We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created by you know, you know the thing.” The recurrence of such gaffes only amplifies the perception that Biden’s public engagements are a liability, reminding voters of his uneven performances during his presidency. For Democrats hoping to rally behind a strong figurehead, these moments are a painful setback.
Adding to the weight of the Delaware speech, Biden marked the ten-year anniversary of his son Beau’s death, a deeply personal moment that he shared with the audience. “This day is the 10th anniversary of the loss of my son Beau, who spent a year in Iraq. And to be honest, it’s a hard day,” he said, adding, “Being with all of you quite frankly makes things a little bit easier, it really does. So thank you for allowing me to grieve with you.” While the sentiment was heartfelt, the emotional weight of the moment was overshadowed by his earlier stumble, which critics seized upon as evidence of his diminished capacity.
Biden’s health has also become a focal point, further complicating his public image. His office disclosed on May 16 that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, described as aggressive with a Gleason score of 9 and metastasis to the bone. “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms.”
“Recently he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the statement read. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.” The timing of this announcement, just days before a book release detailing his physical and mental decline, has only intensified scrutiny.
The book, titled Original Sin, set to hit shelves shortly after Biden’s Delaware appearance, promises to delve into allegations of a cover-up regarding his health during his presidency. Its release could not come at a worse time for Democrats, who are already grappling with Biden’s public missteps. The former president’s insistence on remaining in the spotlight, despite these challenges, is frustrating party strategists who fear his appearances are overshadowing their efforts to rebuild momentum ahead of future elections.
Since leaving office, Biden has made limited but high-profile public appearances, including a speech on social security and interviews with The View and BBC. These moments were intended to showcase his experience and wisdom, but they’ve often backfired. In his May 8 appearance on The View, Biden pushed back against claims of cognitive decline, a topic that continues to dog him. His defensive posture, combined with visible struggles in unscripted moments, only fuels the narrative that he’s out of touch—a narrative Democrats are desperate to move past.
For a party looking to redefine itself and energize its base, Biden’s continued presence on the public stage is proving problematic. His inability to deliver a clean, inspiring performance risks alienating voters who associate him with the party’s recent struggles. Each gaffe, like the Declaration flub, becomes fodder for opponents, who are quick to portray Democrats as tethered to a faltering figurehead. The contrast between Biden’s uneven appearances and the polished messaging of his rivals is stark, and it’s not doing his party any favors.
The Delaware speech was meant to be a moment of solemn reflection and patriotic unity, but it instead highlighted Biden’s vulnerabilities. His attempt to pivot from a verbal stumble to a triumphant declaration fell flat, leaving observers to question whether he should scale back his public engagements. Democrats, already navigating a challenging political landscape, can ill afford these distractions as they work to regain trust and momentum.
As Biden continues to appear in public, his every word is scrutinized, and his missteps are amplified. The party’s leadership is reportedly growing anxious, aware that his presence risks overshadowing their efforts to promote new faces and ideas. With the 2026 midterms looming, Democrats are eager to shift focus to a fresh generation of leaders, but Biden’s persistent visibility threatens to keep the spotlight on his shortcomings. Not only his shortcomings, but also the shortcomings of the Democrat party in the eyes of the American people for covering up Joe Biden’s obvious health decline.
Longtime supporters of the Democrat Party, like the author of Original Sin, CNN’s Jake Tapper, have been facing criticism for trying to capitalize on the obvious cover-up even though they were complicit in the eyes of most Americans. Just as a reminder, Jake Tapper was the moderator of the infamous CNN debate in which Joe Biden’s brain seemed to break on live television in his debate against Donald Trump.
Making money by selling millions of books on a scandal that Tapper was intimately involved with at worst and quiet on at best is absolutely despicable in the eyes of most Americans. Jake Tapper knew he had to turn on Joe Biden but only because it was convenient for him to do so.
🚨Victor Davis Hanson absolutely demolishes Jake Tapper: “One of the greatest acts of moral duplicity I’ve seen in my lifetime."
Brutal. And 100% accurate:
"Joe Biden has got cancer. He's written off. He's in decline. The family is disgraced. It's easy now to write about that."… pic.twitter.com/SoQBSodVH8
