Hysterical liberal police chief weeps on camera for one humiliating reason

The Left have some of the weakest constitutions around. And this isn’t helping that stereotype.

Because a hysterical liberal police chief wept on camera for one humiliating reason.

Portland Chief Acknowledges DHS Details on Shooting

In a recent press conference, Portland Police Chief Bob Day confirmed key aspects of the Department of Homeland Security’s account regarding a defensive shooting by a Border Patrol agent.

The incident unfolded during a targeted vehicle stop involving two individuals reportedly linked to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. According to DHS, “When agents identified themselves to the vehicle occupants, the driver weaponized his vehicle and attempted to run over the law enforcement agents.”

This led to the agent firing in self-defense, injuring the two occupants.

Day stated, “What I can say is there is an association with the two folks yesterday and TDA,” referring to the gang. His admission highlights the challenges federal agents face in upholding border security and public safety amid rising threats from transnational crime.

Hesitations and Emotional Appeal to the Community

Chief Day explained his initial reluctance to disclose the gang connection, citing concerns over past missteps by law enforcement.

“I hesitated to even share this information initially because I’m very aware of the historic injustice of victim-blaming oftentimes portrayed by law enforcement, including this very agency,” he said.

He added, “Historically, we have not been quick to disclose the potential criminal history of others, but I felt it was imperative because I was asked yesterday in the news conference what information we have.”

Day emphasized that “This is information we have. This in no way draws a through-line to the actions or the behaviors that occurred yesterday.” Visibly moved, he broke down while speaking to the Latino community: “It saddens — it saddens me that we even have to qualify these remarks.”

He continued, “Because I understand, or at least have attempted to understand through your voices, your concern, your fear, your anger — this information in no way meant to disparage or to condone or support or agree with any of the actions that occurred yesterday.”

Day urged commitment to principles like “the rule of law, that we stay committed to the facts, that we stay … trustworthy and legitimate,” underscoring the importance of transparency in protecting communities.

Public Reaction and Leadership Response

The shooting sparked misinformation from local and national media, fueling unrest that culminated in a mob attempting to storm an ICE facility, resulting in six arrests.

Journalist Andy Ngo noted on X: “The entire city and state leadership, all run by Democrats, organized an emergency press conference to condemn the federal agents, reject DHS’ statement and to express support with the violent suspects, who they called the ‘victims.’” This backlash contrasts with the confirmed details, reminding us of the vital role federal enforcement plays in addressing gang activities that endanger officers and civilians alike.
