Joe Biden makes war move with serious consequences just days before leaving office

President Biden is furious. He’s going out swinging.

Because Joe Biden just made a war with serious consequences right before leaving office.

There were a few issues that Donald Trump won on that gave him a very clear, resounding victory on Election Night on November 5th. He spent his entire campaign focusing on the economy and overall cost of goods, illegal immigration, and national security and U.S. foreign policies. Normally, U.S. foreign policy can be hard to get Americans jazzed up about during a campaign, but Donald Trump did so brilliantly by feeling the pulse of the American people.

He knows Americans don’t want to fund more proxy wars. Americans are really tired of hearing about the bloodshed from these wars. There’s just no stomach anymore for sending billions more in American taxpayer dollars to wars in the Middle East or Eastern Europe. Donald Trump voiced those concerns on the campaign trail, which got the American people on his side on these issues.

Even though Joe Biden and his Democrat puppet stand-in Kamala Harris lost in a big way in the elections, they are taking every opportunity to reject the will of the American people and muck up the White House before they leave for good. That includes fanning the flames of war in Ukraine before Donald Trump has to come into the picture and clean up the mess from the past four years.

Biden Announces $2.5 Billion in Security Assistance to Ukraine Amid Escalating Conflict

In the final weeks of his presidency, President Joe Biden made a significant announcement regarding continued U.S. support for Ukraine as it battles Russian aggression. On Monday, Biden revealed that the federal government would be sending an additional $2.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, underscoring his administration’s commitment to helping the country defend its sovereignty and independence.

This new tranche of aid, which includes critical military equipment such as artillery and air defense systems, is part of a broader effort to ensure that Ukraine has the necessary resources to counter Russian advances. According to the White House, the funds will be used to secure essential equipment to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

In a statement, Biden emphasized the urgency and importance of this continued support, especially in the final days of his presidency. He stated, “Today, I am proud to announce nearly $2.5 billion in security assistance for Ukraine, as the Ukrainian people continue to defend their independence and freedom from Russian aggression.” The president highlighted that the U.S. would not only expedite the delivery of this aid but would also draw from existing U.S. military equipment to quickly supply Ukraine’s needs.

“I’ve directed my Administration to continue surging as much assistance to Ukraine as quickly as possible—including drawing down older U.S. equipment for Ukraine, rapidly delivering it to the battlefield, and then revitalizing the U.S. defense industrial base to modernize and replenish our stockpiles with new weapons,” Biden explained.

Biden reiterated the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine during the remainder of his term. “At my direction, the United States will continue to work relentlessly to strengthen Ukraine’s position in this war over the remainder of my time in office,” he said, signaling that this commitment would persist despite the ongoing challenges on the battlefield.

The U.S. Commitment to Ukraine: A Multi-Billion Dollar Effort

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the U.S. has provided substantial financial and military assistance to Ukraine. According to the special inspector general overseeing U.S. aid to Ukraine, the U.S. has obligated at least $130 billion in assistance, with $86 billion already disbursed. This support has come in the form of weapons, training, intelligence-sharing, and economic aid, all designed to help Ukraine withstand Russia’s relentless offensive.

The fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces has been brutal and protracted, with neither side able to decisively dominate the conflict. As of now, the war has stretched into its third year, with heavy casualties on both sides. The Council on Foreign Relations estimates that millions of Ukrainians have been displaced by the fighting, while The New York Times reports that the death toll has reached hundreds of thousands, with many others injured or incapacitated.

Despite the ongoing violence, there are signs of increasing international pressure to find a diplomatic resolution to the conflict. In early December, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reportedly spoke with former U.S. President Donald Trump, and the two leaders expressed their desire to work together to find a “fair, just, and sustainable peace.” This conversation highlights growing concerns in the international community about the protracted nature of the war and its devastating consequences.

Growing Skepticism of Proxy Wars Among the American Public

As the war in Ukraine continues, the American public’s support for prolonged U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts is becoming more complicated. While the Biden administration has remained firm in its commitment to Ukraine, there has been a noticeable shift in public opinion, with many Americans questioning the effectiveness and costs of continued support for proxy wars.

Recent surveys indicate a growing reluctance among the U.S. populace to endorse foreign military engagements. A poll conducted by YouGov America in 2023 found that 57% of Americans believed the U.S. should not be involved in foreign wars unless directly threatened. Another survey by Gallup in 2024 revealed that only 35% of Americans thought the U.S. should continue to provide military support to Ukraine, down from a high of 47% the previous year. These trends prove a growing sentiment of war-weariness and skepticism regarding the U.S.’s role as the world’s primary military guarantor, especially when the conflict does not appear to directly threaten American interests.
