MSNBC is caught blackmailing one liberal Supreme Court Justice

The Left would have you believe that Democrats of all stripes get along. That is an enormous lie.

And now MSNBC was caught blackmailing one liberal Supreme Court Justice.

One thing that angers Democrats to no end is that Trump was able to get three Supreme Court Justices onto the Court.

They kicked and screamed that it was unfair or that Trump was packing the Court, even though Democrats were the ones openly calling for “expanding” the Court.

And, after Trump left office, they pushed for the elderly Justice Stephen Breyer to retire.

Essentially, they were worried that he would die after Biden’s term and a Republican would be able to fill the slot.

After his retirement, we got Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson who is now 53-years-old.

To be fair, Breyer was 83 when he retired.

But now Democrats want to go further and are calling for Justice Sonia Sotomayor to retire – she’s only 69.

Former MSNBC commentator Mehdi Hasan urged Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to resign on Monday so that President Biden may choose another liberal justice to replace her, while former President Trump maintains leads in swing states heading into the 2024 election.

CNN host Jake Tapper questioned the panelists on Tuesday if they agreed with Hasan’s argument.

“With Joe Biden trailing Trump in several swing states and Democrats also in danger of losing their razor-thin majority in the Senate, are we really prepared for history to repeat itself? Sotomayor will turn 70 in June,” Hasan wrote in a column for The Guardian.

“I have PTSD from 2020, I think the Democrats didn‘t learn lessons. Look, what are we talking about, abortion rights. How did that happen? Dobbs [v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization], how did the Florida decision happen today? [Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis appointed five of the seven judges. Republicans are very good at stacking courts and getting their people on courts and thinking strategically about filling courts. Democrats aren’t very good at seeing the power of the Supreme Court,” Hasan told the other CNN panelists.

“And that’s why I worry. I worry that, why would you want to repeat history? Why take the risk? You have a Democratic president and a Democratic Senate, and you have a justice who is about to turn 70,” he said.

CNN’s Eva Mckend claimed she had only heard Hasan’s calls and that Democrats in general have not been pressuring Sotomayor to stand down. She stated she wasn’t “so sure” about Sotomayor and insisted it was a personal decision.

According to NBC News, prominent Democrats will not support calls for the justice’s retirement.

When asked about it during a news briefing on Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that it would be Sotomayor’s “personal choice”.

During his CNN interview, Hasan argued that abortion should not be a personal choice.

“It shouldn‘t be a personal choice. The U.S. Supreme Court is one of the only supreme courts in a democratic world that has lifetime tenure. It’s mad, England doesn‘t have it. Belgium doesn‘t have it. Spain doesn‘t have it. Australia, New Zealand, you either have term limits or you have a 70 retirement age. What are people doing in their 80s on the Supreme Court? Or running for president, some might ask?” he said.
