And Nancy Pelosi just betrayed her own party with one massive defection.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suggested in an interview over the weekend that federal authorities should look into the funding that extreme pro-Palestinian groups in the United States are receiving because the Russian government may be backing some of their operations.
The words come after Hamas killed 1,200 Israelis in an unprecedented terrorist strike on October 7, which has thrown the region into chaos.
Pelosi’s remarks, made during a Sunday interview on CNN’s State of the Union with host Dana Bash, come as Russia has shown a non-hostile attitude toward the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization, which is due in part to Russia’s close relationship with Israel’s main adversary, Iran, in order to supply it with military drones for use in its war in Ukraine.
“For [the pro-Palestinian protesters] to call for a cease-fire is Mr. Putin’s message, Mr. Putin’s message,” Pelosi told CNN.
“Make no mistake, this is directly connected to what he would like to see. Same thing with Ukraine. It’s about Putin’s message.”
“I think some of these protesters are spontaneous and organic and sincere,” she said.
“Some, I think, are connected to Russia. And I say that having looked at this for a long time now, as you know.”
When asked if she believed the demonstrators were Russian “plants,” Pelosi unleashed loose.
“I don’t think they’re plants. I think some financing should be investigated. And I want to ask the FBI to investigate that.”

Pelosi’s spokeswoman later stated that she has “always supported and defended the right of all Americans to make their views known through peaceful protest.”
“Informed by three decades on the House Intelligence Committee, Speaker Pelosi is acutely aware of how foreign adversaries meddle in American politics to sow division and impact our elections, and she wants to see further investigation ahead of the 2024 election,” the spokesperson added.
The problem for the Democrats is that there is a sizable chunk of their party who openly supports Hamas terrorists.
Ilhan Omar, a Somali-born Muslim, has equated the Hamas attack on Israel with the Israeli response.
“Palestinians have few recourses for justice and accountability. Attacks by the IDF and settlers against Palestinians are regularly met with impunity. Efforts to seek justice in international courts are stonewalled by the Israeli government, with U.S. support,” she stated in the days following the October 7th attack.
“As the world is condemning Hamas’s attacks, we must also oppose an Israeli military response that has already taken the lives of hundreds of Palestinians, including nearly two dozen children.”
