The Democrats are still reeling from their November losses. The infighting continues to rage on.
And now an Obama advisor has called Joe Biden three words that will start a civil war.
There’s been a ton of talk about Democrats potentially splitting up after what happened on Election Night. What happened was that the Democrats got laughed out of the room, giving them no clear path forward like in years past. Sure, sometimes you lose, sometimes you win. But this was different and everyone knew this to be the case immediately.
All of the Democrat Party allies are speaking up about how they would move forward from this point, but they all disagree. Some are suggesting a return to 1990s Bill Clinton-esque neoliberal/neocon politics. Some are suggesting a hard pivot to radical “progressive politics.” Very few are getting the point that the American people generally want a government that will put them first but then leave them alone.
That’s why you get the infighting and the Democrat Party gets nowhere. Just consider what a close Barack Obama ally has said about Joe Biden now that Biden is about to be on his way out of the White House. They really don’t like the man anymore.
Obama Allies View Biden As A “Tragic” Egomaniac?
Former Obama aide Jon Favreau described President Joe Biden as a “tragic figure” during an episode of his podcast Pod Save America on Tuesday. Favreau criticized Biden’s ego for consistently getting in the way of his leadership throughout his presidency.
The discussion centered around Biden’s recent decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, a move that surprised many, given that both the president and his staff had previously denied such an action would take place. This pardon has sparked a divide within the Democratic Party, with some defending Biden’s decision and others voicing criticism.
Favreau, along with cohosts Jon Lovett and Tommy Vietor, shared their thoughts on the situation. Vietor argued that the time for Biden to protect his son from the “political glare” of Republicans had passed, specifically in 2019 when Biden first announced his candidacy for president.
In his remarks, Favreau stated, “I mean, I’m sorry to say that I think that Joe Biden is a tragic figure, like, and I think that there are many good parts of him.” He acknowledged Biden’s positive qualities but argued that his ego has repeatedly interfered with his decision-making. “I really feel for what he’s gone through and what his family has gone through. They’ve gone through hell. None of us can imagine what they’ve gone through,” he added.
“But his ego again and again has gotten in the way. When push comes to shove, it’s like, well, ‘I’m going to do what’s good. I’m going to run for president again, even though it’s f***ing crazy to do that. And I shouldn’t do it and blah, blah, blah. I’m just going to do it,’ you know, and now we’re all here. This to me is like in that category.”
While some Democrats have defended Biden’s decision to pardon Hunter, others, such as Colorado Gov. Jared Polis and Arizona Rep. Greg Stanton, have criticized it as a misstep. Additionally, earlier this year, Biden faced backlash from within his own party for delaying his decision to withdraw from his reelection bid. Democratic California Rep. Nancy Pelosi later suggested that had Biden ended his campaign sooner, the party could have held a primary to select a stronger candidate.
The Democrat Party Risks Being Irrelevant And Outright Extinction
The simple truth is that there are a few agenda items that the Democrats must let go of in order to maintain any sort of political relevance in the future. That’s not an exaggeration at all. Even the high-profile Democrat officials are saying this as well.
The main issue that the Democrats must let go of is the radical agenda of transgenderism extremism. Plenty of Americans have differing beliefs on this issue, and that’s normal. What’s not normal is the Democrat Party pretending like it’s unacceptable for some states to legislate that boys in public schools must go to the boy’s bathrooms and girls go to the girl’s bathroom. The fact that they consider this a war to wage just proves how out of touch they are.
That’s the key here. They are wildly out of touch and the American people are sick of it. They voted that way in November. Now it’s up to the Democrats to look in the mirror and accept where they’ve gone wrong so that they can come up with good ideas once more for the American people.
But don’t count on that. The blame game clearly rages on based on the way the Obama circle is talking about Joe Biden after the election.
There's a Civil War brewing within the Democrat party that threatens to split it. These are some of the marquee issues:
Palestine v Israel
Marxism v Capitalism
