The weaponization of the federal government has happened faster than ever under Biden. Now they’re doing his dirty work.
And the DOJ just hid incriminating evidence of Biden and Republicans are calling foul.
Reiterating that its “cooperation” with the congressional probe has been “extraordinary,” the Justice Department informed House Republicans on Thursday that it will not provide subpoenaed audio recordings of former Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with President Biden.
Over the Justice Department’s failure to provide the audio tapes, House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., had threatened to hold Garland in contempt of Congress.
However, on Thursday the Justice Department emphasized that it had provided a transcript of Biden’s special counsel interview.
“If the Committees’ goal is to receive information from the Department in furtherance of your investigations, that goal has been more than met,” Assistant Attorney General Carlos Uriarte wrote.
“Our cooperation has been extraordinary.”
“The Committees have not responded in kind,” he said.
“It seems that the more information you receive, the less satisfied you are, and the less justification you have for contempt, the more you rush towards it.”
“Lacking a justification for complaint—never mind contempt—in the actual record, the Committees’ threats deepen our concern that you are seeking to create a false narrative of obstruction that weakens, rather than strengthens, the American people’s confidence in our government and the rule of law,” Uriarte said.
“The Department will not shirk from our duty to protect the public’s interest in the integrity of law enforcement work. We hope you find this information helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact this office if we may provide additional assistance regarding this or any other matter,” he wrote.
Hur said he would not file charges against Biden even if he were not in the Oval Office and did not suggest criminal charges against him for mishandling and keeping secret documents.
Hur made his report public in February following months of inquiry.
Among the national security and foreign policy documents in those files were classified ones about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan and other nations, which Hur claimed involved “sensitive intelligence sources and methods.”
Hur called Biden a “sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory” in his report; this assessment has caused serious worries for Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign.
But that wasn’t all, he forgot what year Trump became president and when his own son, Beau, died.
During a discussion of why he kept sensitive papers after leaving the vice presidency in 2017, Biden launched into a rambling explanation in which he said Beau, who died in 2015, was “deployed or is dying” after he left office in 2017.
“I don’t know. This is, what, 2017, 2018, that area?” Biden, who turned 81 in November, queried during the first of two days of questioning by Hur on Oct. 8 when asked “where did you keep papers” after leaving office as vice president “when you were living at Chain Bridge Road” in northern Virginia.
“Remember, in this timeframe, my son is — either been deployed or is dying, and, and so it was — and by the way, there were still a lot of people at the time when I got out of the Senate that were encouraging me to run in this period, except the President,” Biden said, referring to President Barack Obama.
“I’m not — and not a mean thing to say. He just thought that she [Hillary Clinton] had a better shot of winning the presidency than I did.”
Biden proceeded to ask: “What month did Beau die? Oh, God, May 30 —”
At that point, White House lawyer Rachel Cotton and an unidentified man reminded Biden that his son died in 2015.
Moments later, Biden referenced Trump’s election to the presidency and asked if he had been elected in “November of 2017” rather than the previous year.
The president also twice forgot over the course of one of the interview days what a fax machine is and had to be prompted by his staff.
Americans deserve to hear this for themselves.
