The View just exposed the Left’s lunacy by saying the quiet part out loud

The ladies of The View have never been known for their insightful commentary. In fact, they show the very worst of what Democrats have to offer.

And now The View just exposed the Left’s lunacy by saying the quiet part out loud.

Sunny Hostin, co-host of ABC’s The View, stirred controversy on Monday with her inflammatory comments about the January 6, 2021, Capitol breach. Hostin insisted the nation should never “move on” from the event, likening it to some of the darkest chapters in history, including World War II, the Holocaust, and slavery.

“You don’t move on because January 6th was an atrocity,” Hostin declared during the segment. “It was one of the worst moments in American history. And when you think about the worst moments in American history like World War II, things that happened like the Holocaust, chattel slavery.”

Her remarks were met with applause from the audience, signaling approval from some, but critics argue such comparisons are wildly inappropriate and diminish the gravity of the historical tragedies she mentioned.

Hostin doubled down, claiming the country needed to find “moral clarity” and pinning the blame for the events squarely on President-elect Donald Trump.

“We need to never forget,” Hostin continued. “Because past becomes prologue if you forget any race.”

This rhetoric has sparked a debate about the Left’s fixation on January 6. For many, Hostin’s dramatic comparisons seem like a blatant attempt to exaggerate the incident for political purposes, especially as Democrats face growing scrutiny over their selective outrage and inconsistent standards.

Her co-host Sarah Haines chimed in, calling for the Capitol riot to be commemorated annually.

“And hopefully, every year we will continue to show video of January 6, cause I won’t tell you how to feel, you just watch that video and you tell me what you see,” Haines said. She described watching the footage as something that “shook” her to the core, implying that future generations would remain ignorant of the event unless it was constantly revisited.

This fixation isn’t limited to daytime television. President Joe Biden echoed similar sentiments in a Washington Post op-ed published over the weekend.

Labeling January 6 a day when “violent insurrectionists attacked the Capitol,” Biden urged Americans to reflect on the event to prevent history from repeating itself.

“We should be proud that our democracy withstood this assault,” Biden wrote.

“And we should be glad we will not see such a shameful attack again this year. But we should not forget. We must remember the wisdom of the adage that any nation that forgets its past is doomed to repeat it. We cannot accept a repeat of what occurred four years ago.”

Biden also criticized what he called an “unrelenting effort” to rewrite or erase the history of that day.

“We cannot allow the truth to be lost,” he added, though many argue the administration’s narrative conveniently omits key facts.

Critics, including conservatives, have pointed out the stark contrast in how Democrats treat January 6 compared to the violent riots of 2020.

Those riots, fueled by claims of systemic racism and police brutality, resulted in billions of dollars in damages, widespread violence, and the destruction of small businesses across the country. Yet, few arrests were made, and prosecutions were far less aggressive than those targeting January 6 participants.

The Daily Wire highlighted this double standard, noting that only one person was k*lled during the Capitol breach: Ashley Babbitt, an unarmed Trump supporter.

Babbitt was fatally shot by Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd, who had a history of disciplinary issues. Unlike those who perpetrated violence during the summer riots, Babbitt’s death has received little acknowledgment or justice from the Left.

Hostin’s comments, amplified by applause from her audience and support from her co-hosts, reflect a larger pattern of Democrats weaponizing January 6 to push their political agenda. For many Americans, the Left’s relentless focus on the Capitol breach feels like a desperate attempt to deflect from their own failures and hypocrisy.

As the January 6 narrative continues to dominate headlines and television segments, critics question how long Democrats can keep using it as a political tool while ignoring the real issues facing the nation.
