Donald Trump will sometimes change his mind. But no one was expecting this.
And Trump has done a complete 180 on this controversial issue that’s causing chaos on Capitol Hill.
President Trump is once again showing his fearless leadership by demanding that House Republicans push forward with releasing all the Jeffrey Epstein files. This comes right after he initially tried to steer the GOP away from supporting a bill that would force the Justice Department to spill everything on the infamous p*dophile.
In a fiery Truth Social post on Sunday evening, the President laid it out plain and simple:
“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party.”
The House is gearing up for a crucial vote on Tuesday, where they’ll decide on legislation that demands the full disclosure of all Epstein-related materials from the DOJ. This push is happening even though GOP leaders aren’t thrilled, thanks to a discharge petition that hit the magic number of 218 signatures last week.
For this bill to become law, it still needs to clear the Senate and land on Trump’s desk for his signature. On Sunday night, the President didn’t tip his hand on whether he’d rally Senate Republicans to back it or if he’d put pen to paper himself.
The discharge petition got a boost from every single one of the 214 House Democrats, plus a handful of Republicans like Thomas Massie from Kentucky, Nancy Mace from South Carolina, Lauren Boebert from Colorado, and Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia. That crossover didn’t sit well with Trump at all.
Just last Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee dropped over 20,000 pages of documents straight from Epstein’s estate, stirring up the pot even more in this ongoing saga.
Those emails paint a dark picture of Epstein’s world, where the financier, who died in his Manhattan jail cell on August 10, 2019, while facing federal s*x trafficking charges, made wild claims about Trump’s knowledge of his twisted activities.
In one message, Epstein insisted: “[O]f course he knew about the girls as he asked [G]hislaine to stop,” referring to Ghislaine Maxwell’s recruitment of young victims from the spa at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, in an email to author Michael Wolff on January 31, 2019.
The next day, Epstein jotted down in an email to himself: while “Trump knew of it. and came to my house many times during that period,” he “never got a massage.”
Trump and Epstein ran in the same circles back in the 1990s and early 2000s, enjoying what seemed like a tight friendship until they clashed over a bidding war for a Palm Beach mansion in Florida that’s since been torn down.
Shifting gears to offense, Trump announced on Friday that he’s directing the Department of Justice and FBI to dig deep into Epstein’s ties with big names like Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and others, to uncover the real dirt on what was happening behind the scenes.
Attorney General Pam Bondi followed up, confirming she’d tasked Manhattan US Attorney Jay Clayton with heading up that investigation, showing the administration’s swift action against the elite crowd.
Trump doubled down in his Sunday post, declaring: “[T]he House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I DON’T CARE!” emphasizing his focus on bigger priorities.
He added: “All I do care about is that Republicans get BACK ON POINT.”
Wrapping up his message with a warning: “Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive and, if the Democrats had anything, they would have released it before our Landslide Election Victory. Some ‘members’ of the Republican Party are being ‘used,’ and we can’t let that happen.”
The President urged unity: “Let’s start talking about the Republican Party’s Record Setting Achievements, and not fall into the Epstein ‘TRAP,’ which is actually a curse on the Democrats, not us. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
This whole episode exposes how the Radical Left keeps dredging up old ghosts to distract from Trump’s massive wins and the GOP’s unstoppable momentum. It’s time for Republicans to close ranks, expose the real culprits, and keep driving the America First agenda forward without getting sidetracked by these phony traps.
