And now the Trump shooting has had an outcome that absolutely no one saw coming.
A GoFundMe campaign launched to support the victims of the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, has raised over $2 million within just 14 hours, according to the fundraising website.
The fundraiser, titled “Support For Butler PA Victims – President Trump Authorized,” was initiated by Meredith O’Rourke, the national finance director for Trump’s campaign. By Sunday afternoon, the campaign had surpassed its initial goal of $1 million, amassing more than $2.4 million in donations.
“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or k*lled in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” read the description of the GoFundMe campaign. “All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation.”
The campaign has seen contributions from over 25,000 donors, including significant sums from high-profile individuals. UFC president Dana White and musician Kid Rock each donated $50,000, while former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy contributed $30,000 and Daily Wire host Ben Shapiro gave $15,000, as per the donation records on GoFundMe.

Among the victims is former Buffalo volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore, who died protecting his family at the rally. His family shared the tragic news in a Facebook post. The other victims, 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver, are reported to be in stable condition, according to a statement released by the Pennsylvania state police on Sunday.
“He was a hero that shielded his daughters. His wife and girls just lived through the unthinkable and unimaginable,” said Corey Comperatore’s sister, Dawn Comperatore Schafer, on Facebook. “My baby brother just turned 50 and had so much life left to experience. Hatred has no limits and love has no bounds. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, my mother, sister, me and his nieces and nephews as this feels like a terrible nightmare but we know it is our painful reality.”
Former President Trump sustained a wound to his right ear and cheek during the shooting on Saturday. He is expected to make a full recovery, according to his campaign.
The FBI identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. According to The New York Times, Crooks shot at Trump from an elevated position on top of a building approximately 400 feet away. The Secret Service neutralized the suspect immediately after Trump was struck.
The Horrific Response From The Radical Left
It’s certainly encouraging to see so many Americans come together and support the families of those who have fallen victim to this horrible violence over the weekend. It’s not something you see in the news everyday, and our society needs to do a better job highlighting the good of humanity.
That being said, we would be doing a disservice to our readers if we didn’t highlight that there is a concerning rise in the sentiment on the radical Left that shows absolutely no mercy to those who have been affected by the Trump rally shooting tragedy.
Popular Leftist political commentator and debater, Destiny, took to X (formerly Twitter) right after the shooting and showed his true colors immediately. He’s effectively saying that violence against Trump and his supporters is OK. He has literally said he has no sympathy for the victims.

It wasn’t just him, either. Tons of Leftists on X took to the social media platform to express that they were upset that the shooter missed their presumed target of Donald Trump himself. They wanted the bullet to go through Donald Trump’s brain. They want the former president dead, even if that means through disgusting violence.

What’s noteworthy is that these X posts sometimes have tens of thousands of “likes”, which is just disgusting. Again, there’s far too many Leftists who actually want Donald Trump to be six feet deep. That has to change for America to heal.
