Picking a Vice President is critical. It can sink or swim a general election ticket.
And now Trump’s Vice President pick has reportedly been leaked to the media.
All you have to do is look back at the 2008 presidential campaign to find an example of a Vice President pick dragging down a bid for the White House.
While John McCain was a poor candidate for President and was always going to have a hard time against the young then-Senator, Barack Obama, he didn’t do himself any favors by picking Sarah Palin to be his running mate.
Just watch this clip (unfortunately uploaded by a radical leftist, it seems) of Sarah Palin unable to answer a simple question about which media outlets she would get her news from before she was picked to run as Vice President to John McCain.
The unqualified & clueless who agree to debate are SO unqualified & clueless they don't realize beforehand that, by participating, they will undoubtedly shoot themselves in the foot for all to see. While not a debate, here's a classic example (Katie Couric and Sarah Palin, 2008): pic.twitter.com/C8iZCDfIYi

Looking towards 2024, Joe Biden has made it clear that he’s going to stick with Kamala Harris. That move has done him no favors as Kamala Harris remains one of the most disliked politicians in the country.
Though, the leading candidate for the 2024 President election, Donald Trump, has not announced who would be his Vice President this time around.
The falling out between former Vice President Mike Pence and former President Donald Trump is well documented, and now the 45th President looking for his second term is on the search for a new running mate.
Some members of the media believe they know exactly who it will be, and the answer may surprise you.
A reporter for the New York Times has alleged that Donald Trump is seriously considering tapping Tucker Carlson to be his Vice President running mate to fill out his 2024 ticket.
The Daily Caller News Foundation reports:
A New York Times reporter said Monday she heard that former President Donald Trump could pick Tucker Carlson as his running mate for the 2024 election.
Political correspondent Maggie Haberman said during an interview on the Dispatch podcast that Trump was planning to assemble loyalists for a potential administration should he win the upcoming presidential election. Podcast host Jamie Weinstein then asked her about the rumors that Trump could pick Carlson, a co-founder of the Daily Caller and Daily Caller News Foundation, as his running mate.
The report from the DCNF notes that the NYT reporter, Maggie Haberman, shared with members of the media that the Trump campaign may believe it to be a solid move to go after Tucker Carlson as radical it may seem.
“I know that might sound unbelievable based on what we’ve seen from Trump historically, but Trump’s current political team is the best — at least as a non-incumbent — that he’s had, and there’s just a different level of control,” Haberman shared during an interview.
Though, Haberman shared concerns that Donald Trump himself may not want to share his starpower with someone like Tucker Carlson who is already a giant name as well.
“The risk with Tucker Carlson and Trump is that Tucker Carlson’s a very big star in his own right, and I’m not sure how Trump would contend with that,” Haberman noted.
A part of Donald Trump’s appeal is that he’s still considered a political outsider. Though he spent four years in the White House, he was never accepted as one with the political class that has dominated Washington, D.C. for decades.
That’s evident by the fact that agencies like the CIA and the NSA have been accused of working against Donald Trump rather than with him when he was the sitting U.S. President.
Picking someone like Tucker Carlson, who has never held public office, would be doubling down on that “outsider” appeal to his campaign.
Whether it would land with the American populus is another question, but something about a Trump-Carlson ticket sounds way easier to sell than a Biden-Harris ticket.
