The bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. can’t stand Donald Trump. There’s no low they won’t stoop to.
And now a whistleblower exposed the FBI’s infiltration of the Trump campaign.
The House Judiciary Committee is now digging into an explosive whistleblower report that alleges the FBI targeted Donald Trump shortly after he announced his presidential campaign in 2015.
The report points to an off-the-books operation initiated by then-FBI Director James B. Comey, even before the now-notorious Crossfire Hurricane investigation.
According to a protected disclosure sent to the committee, an FBI agent revealed that this shadowy investigation was aimed squarely at Trump, raising serious questions about government overreach and bias against the former president.
The whistleblower report claims that two female FBI undercover agents infiltrated Trump’s 2016 campaign at high levels, instructed to act as “honeypots” while traveling alongside Trump and his staff.
Unlike the later Crossfire Hurricane probe into alleged Russian collusion, this earlier investigation, according to the whistleblower, was a criminal probe targeting Trump and his campaign staff without a clear legal basis.
The agent behind the disclosure asserted that Comey himself “personally directed” the operation, knowing full well that it lacked any legitimate foundation — a fact that calls into question the FBI’s integrity at the time.
This investigation, according to the disclosure, did not seem to target a specific crime; rather, it resembled a fishing expedition to find anything that might discredit Trump. The House Judiciary Committee received these whistleblower allegations and, according to a spokesperson, “plans to look into them.”
The whistleblower also claims the FBI operation was concealed from Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz, who had scrutinized the bureau’s later actions against the Trump campaign.
Adding to the scandal, the whistleblower believes that this covert effort highlights a deep-seated institutional bias against Trump within the FBI.
Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker, reacting to the revelations, told The Washington Times that if true, this operation would represent “a booming, egregious violation” of the rules governing the FBI.
“It’s an unpredicated infiltration of a presidential campaign,” Swecker said, adding that such a move would need approval at the highest levels, yet it appears no such authorization existed.
Trump’s first presidential campaign officially began on June 16, 2015, at Trump Tower, nearly a year before the FBI launched Crossfire Hurricane, which attempted to link the Trump campaign to alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election — a theory ultimately debunked by both the FBI and a DOJ special counsel.
The whistleblower asserts that Comey ordered the investigation off-the-books, with no official file, leaving no paper trail. The operation apparently had Comey’s deputies, including Deputy Director Dave Bowdich and Washington field office head Paul Abbate, helping execute the secret probe.
As the disclosure details, undercover “honeypot” agents targeted figures like Trump adviser George Papadopoulos, who later pled guilty to making false statements to the FBI.
Trump pardoned Papadopoulos in 2020 after new documents revealed that FBI agents had withheld Papadopoulos’ consistent denials of Trump-Russia collusion from the FISA court.
This covert probe reportedly ended when a newspaper prepared to publish a photograph of one of the undercover agents.
According to the whistleblower, the FBI press office misled the publication by claiming the photo was of an FBI informant whose life could be endangered, not an undercover agent.
The disclosure also alleges that one agent involved in the probe was transferred to the CIA to avoid testifying, while another received a promotion.
The whistleblower’s report sheds a troubling light on how high-level FBI players under Comey apparently sought to derail Trump’s rise, allegedly concealing their actions and silencing anyone involved.
With new evidence coming to light, this investigation could be a critical moment in exposing the extent of political manipulation within the intelligence community.
