Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s border policies have been awful. But now we’re learning just how bad they’ve really been.
As this disturbing report from Border Patrol has exposed the Biden/Harris admin’s latest disastrous failure.
In a startling revelation, over 300 individuals listed on the U.S. terror watchlist have been apprehended after crossing the southern border during the Biden-Harris administration. These alarming statistics include suspected ISIS members and a potential Palestinian explosives expert, according to recently released federal data.
What’s more concerning is that these figures only account for those who were detected. According to Border Patrol sources, the situation remains precarious, with one source stating that it’s still “incredibly easy” for terrorists to infiltrate the border. The current vetting system, which relies heavily on U.S. databases, lacks critical intelligence from foreign nations, making it challenging to identify every potential threat.
Although the report didn’t list the names of the individuals caught, several cases have been confirmed through various sources. In August, Palestinian national Omar Shehada was captured at the New Mexico border.
Shehada, 35, appeared on the terror watchlist for his involvement in “explosives/arms” with an unnamed terrorist group, as revealed by a leaked memo. Meanwhile, in July, three Palestinian migrants and one Turkish national were detained in San Diego, all flagged as terror suspects.
Though their affiliations remain unclear, agents in the area had been warned to monitor for Hezbollah, Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad members after the October 7 terror attack on Israel.
Another case involved a Lebanese national named Basel Bassel Ebbadi, apprehended in March at the El Paso border. Ebbadi, 22, admitted to being a Hezbollah member with plans to build a bomb. Similarly, in February, just before former President Donald Trump’s visit to Eagle Pass, Texas, agents detained 40-year-old Colombian national Carlos Obed Yepez-Bedoya, a known terror group member.
While these captures are significant, not all terrorists have been caught. Earlier this year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested eight Tajik nationals in New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.
These individuals, who had previously crossed the border undetected, were later linked to ISIS and were plotting attacks on the LGBTQ community in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, some group members remain at large, and ICE agents continue their pursuit.
Another worrying case involved a Somali national, a “confirmed member” of the al-Shabaab terror group, who was released at the California border in March 2023. Despite his known involvement in explosives or firearms, it took nearly a year for ICE to arrest him again in Minnesota.
“It’s incredibly easy for anyone, including a terrorist, to enter the U.S.,” lamented one Border Patrol source. “Once in the US, if they decide to turn themselves into Border Patrol, we will take them into custody, run record checks and release them into the public within a few days.”
The source further warned that many terrorists don’t appear in U.S. databases, making them undetectable and allowing them to enter the country undeterred.
A second source expressed frustration with the current vetting system, calling it “a joke.” This source emphasized how easy it would be for a terrorist group to exploit the system by sending someone with a clean record, noting that there is little follow-up once migrants are released into the country.
“They show up on the southern border claim ‘fear,’ they tell an agent they are going to stay with an ‘uncle’ in a major city and the government and the NGOs will send him there. Nobody will do follow up, they will be free to do Lord knows what,” the source added.
The number of terror suspects caught under the Biden-Harris administration marks a sharp increase compared to the Trump era, where Border Patrol apprehended just 11 terror suspects between fiscal years 2017 and 2020.
Former Homeland Security official Charles Marino strongly criticized the current administration’s border policies, stating, “With all deterrence lost at our borders, it should come as no surprise to anyone that criminal and terrorist organizations have, and continue to exploit the inept policies of the Biden/Harris administration, which fly in the face of common sense when it comes to protecting the homeland.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) also recently warned that the U.S. faces a high threat level, citing an increased presence of migrants with terrorism ties attempting to enter the country. In its 2025 Homeland Threat Assessment, DHS warned that “Individuals with potential terrorism connections continue to attempt to enter the Homeland at both the US-Mexico and US-Canada borders and also through the immigration system.”
As the situation evolves, the vulnerabilities at the southern border remain a critical concern for national security, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have proven that they won’t do anything to fix the issue.
