The illegal immigration crisis wasn’t an accident. It was coordinated.
And now Tom Homan unveiled a shocking development from the southern border that changes everything.
Dramatic Drop in Illegal Border Crossings Under Trump
Border Czar Tom Homan announced Tuesday that federal authorities recorded a historic low in migrant encounters at the U.S. border in June, with just 6,070 apprehensions for the entire month.
In a post on X, Homan highlighted that this figure is lower than the daily totals seen during the Biden administration, emphasizing that none of the apprehended migrants were released into the U.S.
This sharp decline reflects a 93.1% drop from June 2024’s 87,606 encounters, showcasing a significant shift in border security dynamics.
Comparing Past and Present Border Data
Homan noted that June 2025’s total encounters were less than half of a single day’s apprehensions on many days under Biden’s policies.
For context, June 2023 saw 100,606 encounters, and June 2022 recorded 193,027, with an average daily total of 6,434 that year.
In contrast, last month’s nationwide encounters barely exceeded 10,000, marking a 94% and 97% reduction from June 2023 and 2022, respectively.
Homan’s data points to a stark contrast to prior years, with no releases of apprehended migrants, a policy he credits for deterring illegal crossings.
Trump’s Policies Drive Unprecedented Security
Homan attributed the plummeting numbers to President Trump’s aggressive border security measures, dubbing the achievement “The Trump Effect.”
He declared, “President Trump has created the most secure border in the history of the nation and the data proves it. We have never seen numbers this low. Never.”
Praising the efforts of Border Patrol and ICE, Homan added, “God bless the men and women of the US Border Patrol and God bless the men and women of ICE. The interior arrests and consequences help to drive down illegal immigration.”
The border czar’s remarks highlight a policy framework that prioritizes enforcement and deterrence, yielding measurable results.
