For years we have heard that Donald Trump tried to overthrow democracy. Well now the shoe is on the other foot.
Because House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed this Democrat election plot.
House Speaker Mike Johnson expects Democrats to throw up roadblocks during the 2024 electoral count if former President Donald Trump returns to office — but he’s confident their antics won’t derail the peaceful transition of power.
In an exclusive interview, Johnson pointed out that Democrats have made a habit of objecting to electoral slates whenever a Republican wins, and he doesn’t expect 2024 to be any different.
“Democrats have now made it a tradition to object to electors, certain slates of electors, and they have [done so] every single time a Republican president has won in the last quarter-century,” Johnson noted.
“They have objected for often ridiculous reasons, and I expect that many of them would object when Trump wins, for no reason other than they just don’t like him, and that’s not the way the system works.”
Some House Democrats have already begun laying the groundwork for their objections. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) suggested that certification of the Electoral College results might hinge on the election’s “integrity,” despite offering little evidence to justify any skepticism about a fair process.
Raskin’s comments about Trump “doing whatever he can to interfere” are simply more political posturing. It’s a familiar pattern — Democrats refuse to accept Republican victories and are already prepping their excuses.
Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) echoed Raskin, saying that Democrats would likely object if things didn’t go their way. McGovern, notably, had objected to the 2016 election results, claiming Russian interference in states like Alabama.
These Democrats, who have previously challenged legitimate electoral outcomes, seem intent on stoking controversy rather than ensuring a smooth electoral process.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, however, distanced himself from this speculative fear-mongering, stating that Democrats would do everything necessary to ensure the winner is certified without “drama.”
But Johnson, responding to the rumblings from the Democratic camp, emphasized that his focus remains on upholding the Constitution and ensuring a lawful transition of power.
Johnson reassured Americans that despite Democrats’ usual antics, the law would prevail.
“All I know is, I took an oath to follow the Constitution and that’s what we’re going to do,” he said.
He also reaffirmed his confidence in the Republican caucus to do what’s right under the law, despite Democrats’ attempts to sow doubt.
Interestingly, Democrats have a history of objecting to Electoral College results when Republicans win — having done so in 2000 and 2004, citing allegations of fraud.
While Republicans challenged the 2020 election outcome, they presented concerns about election procedures altered without legislative approval.
The Democrats’ objections to past elections, meanwhile, were often grounded in baseless claims of interference.
In the end, it seems the real problem isn’t the process, but the unwillingness of some Democrats to accept any outcome that doesn’t align with their agenda.
Johnson is clear in his belief that Republicans will ensure the system works as intended and won’t be derailed by those who refuse to play by the rules.
