U.S. Senate Candidate Kari Lake isn’t playing around. She’s set on exposing the D.C. Swamp.
But Kari Lake was left utterly speechless by what just happened in the nation’s Capitol.
There’s no overstating just how important the 2024 election cycle is for the future of the United States. Everything is up for grabs from the White House, to the House of Representatives, to the U.S. Senate.
The U.S. Senate, in particular, is maybe the easiest to predict at this point in time. Democrats are defending twice as many seats as Republicans this go around and many experts believe the GOP has a strong chance of getting a multiple seat majority.
One of the seats that Democrats may very well lose is the seat being vacated by the former Democrat and now independent U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema from Arizona.
It was suspected for months that Sinema would not be seeking another term in Congress but she recently confirmed that she would not be launching another campaign for re-election come this November.
Gunning for that seat is none other than Kari Lake, the former Republican gubernatorial candidate. Kari Lake has found stardom amongst conservative voters because of her willingness to call things like she sees them, a lot like Donald Trump. That’s why the two are often associated with each other.
In fact, to prove she isn’t any generic and corrupt politician, there was leaked audio of a Republican official, Jeff DeWitt, trying to pressure her to not run for the U.S. Senate in 2024. In the audio, it’s made clear that Jeff was sent with a blank check by the RNC to try and bribe Lake into not running. Lake made it clear that she couldn’t be bought and told the RNC they could kiss their hopes of her not running goodbye.
Today, her campaign is thriving. So much so that she just had a huge fundraising event in Washington, D.C. that surpassed her expectations.
Republican Senate hopeful Kari Lake made headlines by amassing a substantial war chest of over $300,000 in just one hour during a high-profile fundraiser in Washington, D.C. This event, hosted by National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman Steve Daines and attended by notable GOP figures like Senate Minority Whip John Thune and Texas Sen. John Cornyn, signaled the growing momentum behind Lake’s campaign.
“Kari Lake raised [$330,000] at one event for one hour. Republicans are excited about her campaign,” a spokesperson for Lake’s campaign asserted, underscoring the enthusiasm within the party for her candidacy.

They emphasized the sharp ideological contrast between Lake and her potential Democratic rival, Rep. Ruben Gallego, painting Gallego as a proponent of Leftist policies such as open borders and high taxes.
The fundraiser drew support from a roster of prominent Republican senators, including Marsha Blackburn, Chuck Grassley, and Tom Cotton, further solidifying Lake’s standing within the party. The NRSC’s official endorsement of Lake in February added to her credibility as the GOP’s preferred candidate for the Arizona Senate seat vacated by Kyrsten Sinema’s retirement announcement.
In response to Lake’s fundraising surge, Gallego’s campaign announced its own impressive haul of over $1 million from nearly 24,000 donors within 24 hours of Sinema’s announcement. Despite this, Lake’s campaign maintains confidence, highlighting her significant fundraising efforts since launching her bid in October.
As the race intensifies, polling data reflects the shifting dynamics. Recent polls suggest a tight contest between Lake and Gallego, with Lake leading by a narrow margin in some surveys while others indicate a slight advantage for Gallego.
With Sinema’s departure, the Arizona Senate race has become a focal point of national attention, classified as a “Toss Up” by The Cook Political Report alongside other key Senate battlegrounds.
The competition for Sinema’s seat underscores the broader significance of the 2024 elections, with control of the Senate hanging in the balance. As Lake and Gallego gear up for what promises to be a closely contested battle, their campaigns will undoubtedly continue to draw attention and resources from across the political spectrum.
As for Kari Lake, she will likely be treating this race as a do or die matter considering the results of the 2022 Arizona Gubernatorial election that she lost by a razor thin margin. Another loss here could be a major hit for her stardom.
