Joe Biden can’t catch a break. The punches are coming in from all directions.
And now Ron DeSantis put Biden’s feet over the fire with this jaw dropping lawsuit.
The Florida Governor has been quiet for some time after dropping out of the race for president.
But recent meetings with Donald Trump have proven that the two men are on the same page when it comes to putting the pressure on Joe Biden.
Though he has said he won’t be Trump’s VP, it’s not stopping him from throwing wrenches in the gears of Biden’s radical schemes for America.
On Monday, Florida filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services over a new pro-LGBTQ rule that encourages minors to undergo “transgender” treatments.
Florida is one of many states that now prohibit minors from undergoing s*xual procedures and hormone therapies.
The complaint states: “Under the guise of federal non-discrimination rules, [HHS] seeks to redefine the practice of medicine.”
“HHS’s rules threaten the livelihood of doctors who refuse to provide experimental, sterilizing, ‘gender-change’ interventions to persons suffering from psychological distress—including minor children,” the lawsuit states.
To do so, HHS purports to override the State of Florida’s laws and regulations protecting the health and safety of its residents. HHS further threatens the loss of federal funds for States and insurance issuers that refuse to cover these interventions.
Ashley Moody, the Republican Florida Attorney General, is leading the lawsuit.
“Florida passed a law to protect our children from dangerous, irreversible gender-transition drugs and surgeries,” Moody said in a Tuesday press statement.
“Now, Biden and his federal bureaucrats are trying to go around our child-protection law to force the state to pay for puberty blockers and gender-transition surgery for children,” she said.
“These rules trample states’ power to protect their own citizens and we will not stand by as Biden tries, yet again, to use the force of the federal government to unlawfully stifle Florida’s effort to protect children.”
According to Moody’s press release, the HHS guidelines “go far beyond what is required by law and could result in a cost of around $200 million per year to [Florida].”
The Catholic News Agency (CNA) announced on Tuesday that,
recently promulgated rule, filed in the Federal Register on Monday and set to go into effect in July, amends the nondiscrimination clause in Section 1557 of the federal Affordable Care Act by expanding the definition of ‘s*x’ to include ‘gender identity,’ among other new additions.
HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra is a self-proclaimed Catholic. In addition to his support for the LGBTQ cause, he is a strong proponent of abortion-on-demand.
It looks like Republicans are taking a page out of the Democrat prosecution playbook and throwing anything they can at Biden to slow him down.
