And the FBI just turned on Biden in a devastating betrayal.
The FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) issued a scathing condemnation of former President Joe Biden on Monday after his shocking commutation of the sentence of Leonard Peltier, a convicted cop k*ller responsible for the deaths of two FBI agents.
In the final minutes of his presidency, Biden made the controversial decision to commute Peltier’s sentence, a move that left the law enforcement community stunned and outraged.
Peltier was convicted of m*rdering FBI Special Agents Jack Coler and Ronald Williams during a 1975 standoff on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
The FBIAA did not mince words in its response, calling Biden’s commutation a “last-second, disgraceful act.”
The association emphasized that the decision “does not change Peltier’s guilt but does release him from prison,” a development they described as deeply unjust.
“This cowardly act lacks accountability and is a cruel betrayal to the families and colleagues of these fallen agents,” the group said in a statement.
“It is a slap in the face of law enforcement across the country. Agents Coler and Williams gave their lives in service to this nation, and their families continue to bear the heavy burden of that sacrifice.”
The association highlighted Peltier’s lack of remorse for his actions, underscoring the emotional toll his crimes have taken on the families of the fallen agents.
“Special Agents Coler and Williams were stolen from their families, robbed of the chance to share precious time and milestones with their loved ones,” the statement continued.
“Leonard Peltier should not have been granted a mercy he so cruelly denied to the Coler and Williams families.”
The FBIAA’s frustration is compounded by the broader implications of the commutation, which they argue undermines accountability and justice.
The group called Biden’s decision “a reckless and callous disregard for the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and their families.”
The commutation has reignited debates over Peltier’s case, which has long been a flashpoint for controversy.
Supporters argue that his trial was marred by misconduct and that his imprisonment was unjust, while law enforcement and the agents’ families maintain that the evidence against him is overwhelming.
The FBIAA concluded its statement by expressing hope that new leadership in Washington, D.C., will prioritize keeping criminals and cop k*llers behind bars.
“This association remains committed to ensuring that the memory of Agents Coler and Williams is honored and that justice for their sacrifices is upheld,” the group said.
“We look forward to working with leaders who respect the rule of law and the brave men and women who uphold it every day.”
Biden’s decision to commute Peltier’s sentence has already sparked intense backlash, with law enforcement officials and advocacy groups calling it a betrayal of the justice system.
