Trump went on 60 Minutes and made a threat that is sending Democrats into hysterics

Donald Trump has had enough of playing around. He’s going for broke.

Because he went on 60 Minutes and made a threat that is sending Democrats into hysterics.

Trump’s Unyielding Stance on ICE Operations

In a forthcoming 60 Minutes interview airing Sunday night—his inaugural CBS News appearance since filing suit against the network’s parent company—President Trump robustly defended his administration’s ICE raids, asserting “they haven’t gone far enough.”

Dismissing concerns over the intensity of his immigration enforcement, Trump pointed fingers at “liberal judges” for obstructing progress when CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell inquired whether “some of these raids” had exceeded bounds.

“No. I think they haven’t gone far enough because we’ve been held back . . . by the liberal judges that were put in by Biden and by Obama,” Trump replied, per a released preview.

“Americans have been watching videos of ICE tackling a young mother, tear gas being used in a Chicago residential neighborhood, and the smashing of car windows,” O’Donnell noted during the Friday session at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

“You’re okay with those tactics?” O’Donnell pressed.

“Yeah, because you have to get the people out,” Trump maintained.

His administration continues to navigate multiple lawsuits tied to deportation strategies, notably in Illinois, where a Biden-appointed federal judge halted the deployment of National Guard troops to Chicago.

Jabs at NYC Mayoral Contender

In another segment from the anticipated broadcast, Trump revisited New York City’s mayoral contest, lambasting leading candidate Zohran Mamdani as a “communist.”

“He’s far worse than a socialist,” the president declared.

O’Donnell probed potential parallels between the two figures.

“Some people have described him as a left-wing version of you … charismatic, breaking the old rules. What do you think about that?” she asked, based on the excerpt.

“Well, I think I’m a much better-looking person than him, right?” Trump quipped.

Context of the High-Profile Interview

The 60 Minutes exchange arrives shortly after Bari Weiss—ex-opinion editor at the Wall Street Journal and New York Times, and founder of the Free Press—assumed the role of editor-in-chief at CBS.

Trump previously sued CBS parent Paramount over a 2024 60 Minutes feature with then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

In July, Paramount settled the lawsuit for $16 million, resolving Trump’s claims that the Harris interview was manipulatively edited to favor his 2024 rival.
