ICE Director sends out July 4th announcement to Americans that you need to hear

It’s been a hot summer of boiling politics. Americans want to know they can feel safe at the end of the day.

That’s why the Director of ICE just had to send out this July 4th announcement for all Americans to hear.

Trump Admin Bolsters Security, ICE Director Assures Safety for July 4th Celebrations

As the nation gears up for Fourth of July festivities, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Todd Lyons delivered a message of confidence on Thursday, assuring Americans they can celebrate safely despite recent terror threat warnings. The Trump administration’s proactive measures, including heightened law enforcement operations and targeted arrests, aim to secure the homeland during this pivotal holiday.

Recent concerns about potential terror threats emerged from two key issues: the influx of dangerous illegal migrants crossing the southern border and escalating tensions in the Middle East. Earlier this month, Israel’s attack on Iran sparked a 12-day conflict, raising fears of retaliatory actions. President Donald Trump’s decisive order to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities last weekend briefly drew the U.S. into the conflict, amplifying concerns from federal law enforcement and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem about possible terror activities on American soil.

Despite these challenges, Lyons emphasized the strength of the current administration’s security framework. “I think Americans should be confident that under this administration, under the leadership of Secretary Noem, you have federal law enforcement agencies that are out there every day protecting the homeland,” Lyons told NewsNation. “I think the American public needs to be aware. They just need to be cautious, but they need to go on living their lives because they wake up in the greatest country every day.”

The administration’s focus on national security has been unwavering. ICE arrested 130 Iranian nationals across the United States in the past week alone, with 670 currently in detention. These arrests target individuals in the country illegally, particularly amid fears of Iranian sleeper cells. Federal sources confirmed these figures, highlighting the Trump administration’s aggressive approach to neutralizing potential threats.

National security experts have sounded alarms about the risk of sleeper cells, particularly those linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) or Hezbollah. “The presence in this country of undocumented migrants or Iranian nationals who have links to Hezbollah, IRGC, is, in my judgment, a domestic law enforcement concern of the highest magnitude,” former Obama-era Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said on *Fox & Friends*. The administration’s swift response to these risks demonstrates its commitment to public safety.

The border crisis inherited from the Biden administration has compounded these concerns. Millions of illegal migrants entered the U.S. during the previous administration, many without proper vetting. “We don’t know who they are, where they came from, why they’re here,” border czar Tom Homan said last week. “This is the biggest national security vulnerability we’ve ever seen.” The lack of oversight allowed an estimated 2 million “gotaways”—individuals who crossed the border undetected—to slip into the country.

Former acting ICE Director Jonathan Fahey echoed these concerns, pointing to the absence of meaningful vetting under the prior administration. “I think one thing that’s really concerning about that: One, they weren’t doing any really meaningful vetting in the last administration,” Fahey said. “The second part of it is, you know, we have probably 2 million known gotaways come through the last administration, and the people that went through the non-ports of entry, we knew they went through but nobody caught them, so we have no idea who went through.”

ICE’s recent arrests reveal the gravity of the situation. Among those detained, some have criminal histories involving drugs, weapons, and domestic violence. At least one individual served as a sniper in the Iranian military as recently as four years ago. During the Biden administration, approximately half of the 1,500 Iranian nationals released into the U.S. were allowed into the interior, raising further questions about prior security protocols.

The Trump administration’s proactive stance extends beyond arrests. Federal law enforcement has been preparing for the Fourth of July for months, collaborating with state and local partners to ensure safety at large-scale events. “The American public should feel safe going to any one of these large fireworks celebrations, for instance, because DHS has worked with local and state partners for days, weeks, and months leading up to ensure that we have all the most current threat intelligence,” Lyons said.

A recent Supreme Court ruling bolstering the administration’s deportation capabilities has added another layer of security. The decision allows deportations to third-party countries, even those with limited diplomatic ties to the U.S. This ruling could facilitate the removal of high-risk detainees, though legal challenges persist. A recent attempt to deport illegal immigrants with serious criminal convictions to South Sudan was halted by a federal judge in Boston, sparking ongoing legal debates.

The administration insists that it is focusing on high-risk, high-priority individuals with their investigations and resources. By prioritizing the removal of those with ties to hostile groups or criminal backgrounds, the Trump team is working to restore order and security at the border.

Lyons’ assurances come as a direct response to public concerns about safety during a time of heightened global tensions. The administration’s coordination with local law enforcement, coupled with its aggressive immigration enforcement, aims to ensure that Americans can celebrate the nation’s independence without fear.

The contrast between the current administration’s approach and the policies of its predecessor is stark. While the Biden administration’s lax border policies allowed millions to enter unchecked, the Trump administration has taken decisive steps to address these gaps.

As Americans prepare to gather for barbecues, parades, and fireworks, the Trump administration’s efforts provide a foundation of confidence. Lyons’ message is clear that vigilance is necessary, but the administration’s robust measures allow citizens to embrace the holiday with pride and peace of mind.
