Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s on red alert. Donald Trump’s put his job right on the line.
And now Chuck Schumer’s on the chopping block after this U.S. Senate news dropped.
There hasn’t been much news covering Chuck Schumer in recent weeks in the mainstream media, now has there? As everyone knows, the mainstream media is, for the most part, extremely soft and sympathetic for the Democrat Party and it’s front-facing leaders like President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
In an election year, you’re simply not going to hear much from CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and the other predominantly Leftist media outlets in the way of criticism for these individuals “leading” the Democrat Party. So if there’s nothing nice to say, they won’t say anything at all. That’s the case right now with Senator Chuck Schumer.
Chuck Schumer has been heavily criticized by his own fellow Democrats and conservatives in Congress alike for simply being one of the worst Senate “leaders” the Upper Chamber has ever seen. That’s not even much of a controversial statement at all. Democrats are furious with him for failing to get his act together and get Joe Biden’s nominations over the finish line and confirmed to their posts.
This poor Senate leadership has put the Democrats in a bad position this election year in Congress. Not only are Democrats defending twice as many seats in the U.S. Senate as the Republicans are, but American opinion of U.S. Senate leadership is downright awful. Americans have no trust in the Senate leaders, the Democrats in power, to bring about good policy and legislation. Chuck Schumer absolutely bears that blame. Republicans are poised to take back the U.S. Senate and Chuck Schumer’s job as a Senate leader is on the line.
Donald Trump has been weighing in on some of the high-profile Senate races, including the one out of Michigan that is proving to be extremely contentious. In Michigan, Republican Mike Rogers is running for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate Seat from the Glove State.
Some conservatives were concerned about Donald Trump’s endorsement of Mike Rogers, saying that he may end up being another Senate RINO that will just cut deals with the Democrats at the expense of the rights of Americans and American taxpayer dollars.
But there’s another major endorsement that’s come in to help Mike Rogers get over the finish line, this time from House Republican Jack Bergman from Michigan.
Bergman shared with reporters that he believes Mike Rogers won’t need “any on the job training” and will be a “vital partner” to the policies Donald Trump and his fellow conservatives are going to be pushing for, like securing the border and energy independence.
“I’m proud to endorse fellow veteran Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate,” Bergman shared in a statement with media reporters.
“Mike won’t require any on the job training and will be a strong advocate for Michiganders. I’m excited to have Mike as a vital partner in the Senate as we fight to secure our border, ensure our veterans receive the care and benefits they’ve earned, and end Joe Biden’s war on American energy that uniquely hurts Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula families,” Bergman added.
Mike Rogers has gained endorsements from Senator Shelley Moore Capito from West Virginia, Senator Katie Britt from Alabama who gave the State of the Union address response for the GOP, Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa, as well as Senator Steve Daines from Montana.
Earlier this year, Mike Rogers’ opponent James Craig, the Detroit law enforcement chief, dropped out of the race and announced his endorsement of Rogers as well.
Currently, Mike Rogers is in the driver’s seat in that race. He far outpaces his Republican opponents who are also running for the Senate seat, including Peter Meijer and Justin Amash. Those two individuals both voted to impeach Donald Trump when Trump was in office.
The general election for the U.S. Senate seat in Michigan is currently tied according to generic Republican/Democrat surveys coming out of the region, though Donald Trump does carry a 3-4 point lead over Joe Biden in hypothetical -residential match up polls.
Clearly the GOP is putting a ton of focus back on the state of Michigan to flip this seat, and that has to have Chuck Schumer extremely nervous about the odds of being able to hold on to Democrat control of the Congressional upper chamber.
Should Democrats lose control, there is a strong case to be made within Democrat circles that Chuck Schumer should no longer be in Senate leadership as he has been for years and years now. The Senate Minority Leadership would likely be a hard get for Mr. Schumer given how poorly he’s been received as the Senate Majority Leader.
Meaning this is his last shot. He is in for the fight of his political life and political relevancy right now, and it’s not looking good as Republicans are pouring in resources and effort into Michigan to take that Senate seat once again.
