Musk Unleashes Fraud Accusations Against Schumer
Tech titan Elon Musk has lobbed a bold claim at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, hinting that the New York Democrat might be pocketing gains from shady government dealings.
Musk, never one to mince words, aired his suspicions with a biting quip: “Chuck, I’m starting to think you’re getting a piece of the action with the government fraud. But no, that couldn’t possibly be the reason, could it?”
The jab came hot off the presses in a Tuesday morning post, stirring the pot in their ongoing feud.
Schumer’s Defense: A Weak Counterpunch
Schumer didn’t take the accusation lying down, but his retort lacked the punch to knock Musk off his perch.
“Another Elon lie. He wants you to think anyone who dares to stand up to him is committing fraud, meanwhile he’s taking tens of billions from the government,” Schumer fired back in a Tuesday post.
The senator’s response came after Musk, who’s been leading the charge at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to root out federal waste, commented on Schumer’s earlier attack.
On Monday, Schumer had accused DOGE of “sabotaging” Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid—claims he’d already bellowed from the Senate floor.
Social Security Smackdown: Musk vs. Schumer’s Spin
The clash escalated when Musk tackled Schumer’s narrative head-on. Schumer had doubled down Monday, posting, “Make no mistake: What Elon Musk is doing at Social Security is cutting benefits,” a line lifted straight from his Senate speech.
Musk wasn’t having it.
“The intern running Schumer’s social media account is lying,” he snapped back on X Tuesday morning. Schumer’s speech had painted a dire picture, claiming:
“Elon Musk is cutting Social Security benefits,” and adding, “When offices close down, when websites crash, when phone lines shut off, that’s no different than cutting benefits.”
Musk’s DOGE crusade clearly has Schumer rattled, but the senator’s attempts to pin the blame on Musk feel more like political theater than a knockout blow.
