Huge U.S. House announcement has Trump haters ripping their hair out

The Trump deranged D.C. bureaucrats are having a rough go. They are suffering defeat after defeat.

And now this U.S. House announcement has Trump haters losing their minds.

For the first time in a while, there’s a real shot at some significant change being brought to the federal government in the United States. This is why the mainstream media and the Washington, D.C. suits have been in panic mode ever since Donald Trump announced his candidacy for a second term in office intending to run for President in 2024. The D.C. political world is built to prevent real change and they will stiff arm anyone who wants to infiltrate to do so.

Then Donald Trump’s campaign took the world by storm. Unlike his first go round running for office, Donald Trump surrounded himself with other game-changers who wanted to take an axe to the status quo, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy. Then Trump won and it was off to the races. Right after his win, he announced that Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk would be heading up the efforts to establish the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), though it is certainly funny to hear about a new department being established to slash federal departments and budgets.

Since the announcement though, there’s been growing optimism surrounding DOGE amongst Republicans. Even milquetoast Republicans in the U.S. Senate were pleasantly surprised when they met with Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk in behind-closed-doors meetings. Now the DOGE hype is reaching all time highs just before Donald Trump takes office this January.

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy: Key Players in the Fight to Slash Federal Spending

In a recent interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) discussed the crucial role that DOGE co-chairs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are set to play in influencing how Congress approaches federal spending cuts. According to Roy, both Musk and Ramaswamy hold significant sway in the ongoing conversation about the country’s fiscal future and are likely to shape the direction of upcoming budgetary decisions.

Roy, who is the policy chair for the conservative Freedom Caucus, did not mince words when explaining how the current state of spending is driven by political motivations. “When the DOGE guys came in, Elon and Vivek, I pointed to my Republican colleagues and I said, ‘You know what the problem is, right here in this room,’” Roy remarked. He explained that both parties — Republicans and Democrats — are often guilty of supporting programs that may not be essential, but which serve political purposes. “We have Republicans and Democrats who never met a program they didn’t want to promote for some sort of political gain,” he added.

This candid observation highlights a key concern among fiscal conservatives: that government programs and spending have ballooned not out of necessity, but as a means to secure votes and political leverage. According to Roy, Musk and Ramaswamy’s involvement could bring fresh perspectives and accountability to this entrenched culture.

Both Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur behind Tesla and SpaceX, and Ramaswamy, the biotech entrepreneur and 2024 presidential candidate, have already established themselves as prominent figures in the political landscape. Now, they are channeling their influence to address wasteful spending in Washington. Roy believes that the two men will be critical in identifying areas where money could be better spent or eliminated altogether.

“Musk and Ramaswamy are working to identify spending waste, and they could use their platforms to shine a light on the issue,” Roy said. He also offered examples of areas where spending cuts could be implemented. “We could start by restricting the use of food stamps or repealing the Inflation Reduction Act,” he suggested, pointing to specific initiatives that could reduce the strain on federal resources.

As a member of the influential House Rules Committee, Roy has made it clear that he will oppose any efforts to raise the debt ceiling without significant cuts in federal spending. His stance echoes his long-held opposition to increasing the debt limit without addressing the root causes of the nation’s growing deficit. This position even earned him criticism and threats of a primary challenge from then-President Donald Trump, a situation Roy has acknowledged but remains unshaken by.

When questioned about his relationship with Trump, Roy remained tight-lipped about private conversations but confirmed that he had been in contact with Trump’s team at Mar-a-Lago and with Republican leadership. He acknowledged the complex nature of politics, stating, “Politics is a rough and tumble business,” and emphasized that while President Trump may have a different view on the debt ceiling, Roy remained steadfast in his belief that it must be linked to meaningful fiscal reforms.

“President Trump knows exactly what he wants. He wants the debt ceiling pushed aside,” Roy said, referencing Trump’s stance on the matter.

The Need for Urgent Federal Spending Cuts

With national debt at an all-time high and deficits continuing to climb, the need for decisive action on federal spending has never been more urgent. As the conversation around cutting the national debt continues to unfold, it’s clear that both parties in Congress will need to come together to prioritize fiscal responsibility over political gamesmanship. Musk and Ramaswamy’s involvement may bring fresh energy to the effort, but their influence will need to be supported by lawmakers willing to make tough decisions.

The U.S. faces a critical moment in its fiscal history. As Chip Roy pointed out, the current system rewards politicians for expanding programs without considering long-term consequences. It’s time for Congress to act decisively—before the country’s debt crisis worsens further. Cutting federal spending should no longer be a matter of political convenience but of national necessity.
