Nancy Pelosi went on MSNBC and made a shocking confession live on camera

Pelosi is a shadow of her former self. Now she’s telling all.

And Nancy Pelosi went on MSNBC and made this shocking confession live on camera.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., appeared to stand by her role in pushing Joe Biden out of the 2024 race, even as she admitted she has yet to speak with the former president or former First Lady Jill Biden.

Biden made history last July when he dropped out of the presidential race after weeks of pressure from within his own party.

A wave of Democratic lawmakers urged him to step aside following his disastrous debate performance against now-President Donald Trump.

Pelosi was widely seen as a key player in the behind-the-scenes effort to force Biden out. Since then, tensions between the Bidens and Pelosi have reportedly remained icy.

On Thursday, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell pressed Pelosi about Biden’s lingering belief — even in the final days of his presidency — that he could have beaten Trump if he had not been forced to step down.

Pelosi, however, brushed aside any suggestion of regret, pivoting to Democratic House races instead.

“Well, all I know is that we won a seat in the house. We did not lose any seats,” Pelosi insisted. “You know, people were like, ‘Oh, the Democrats lost!’ No, we did not. I think it would have been quite different with President Biden at the top of the ticket.”

Mitchell then reminded Pelosi of Jill Biden’s sharp criticism of her in a recent interview with The Washington Post.

In late January, the former first lady expressed her disappointment, revealing that Pelosi’s actions had “been on my mind a lot lately.” She emphasized the depth of their personal relationship, saying, “We were friends for 50 years. It was disappointing.”

Mitchell pressed further, asking, “Is there any way to patch that up? Have you spoken to her?”

Pelosi offered a vague response.

“Well, I certainly hope so,” she replied. “No, I haven’t [spoken to Jill Biden], but the fact is that we’re all on a mission for the American people, for the American people, for America’s working families.”

The longtime Democrat then seemed to frame her political maneuvering as an act of duty, comparing it to maintaining a marriage for the sake of the children.

“My whole passion about being in politics is for the children. So what is it that we’re doing for the children?” Pelosi said. “I think that it would have been important for the children to not have Donald Trump be president of the United States, and that is—I would take every step necessary to make sure that didn’t happen. But it did. And now we have to deal with it.”

Despite the Democrats’ deep divisions following Biden’s departure, Pelosi predicted a political rebound ahead of the 2026 midterms.

“In about 6 or 7 months, you’re going to see such a change,” she claimed. “By the time we start our campaigns in this fall for next fall, you’re going to see a very different picture about the Democrats vis-a-vis Donald Trump.”

With Trump firmly back in the White House and Democratic infighting still simmering, Pelosi’s assurances may not be enough to paper over the fractures within her own party.
