Republican congresswoman sides with Nancy Pelosi in a shocking move

No one expected to see something like this. It’s not everyday that a conservative lines up with Pelosi.

And a Republican congresswoman sided with Nancy Pelosi in a shocking move.

Nancy Mace is fed up with the swamp in Washington, and she’s not holding back. In her bold New York Times op-ed titled What’s the Point of Congress?, the fiery Republican from South Carolina lays out the raw truth about how the House has turned into a joke.

She kicks things off with a personal punch: “I came to Congress five years ago believing I could make a difference for my constituents, for South Carolina and for a country I love deeply.”

But that hope crashed hard against the wall of insider games, where backroom deals and zero transparency keep the real fighters sidelined.

Mace doesn’t mince words on the rigged system. The House hasn’t seen an open rule debate since 2016, locking out any chance for genuine input from the rank-and-file. She slams leaders from both sides for muzzling voices.

She rattles off common-sense fixes that every true conservative cheers for: slapping a ban on congressional stock trading to end the insider grift, imposing term limits to boot out the career politicians, and rolling out voter ID laws to secure elections once and for all.

But here’s the kicker—the House won’t even let these ideas hit the floor for a vote.

In a move that’s sure to rile up the establishment, Mace gives a nod to none other than Nancy Pelosi. She declares outright: “Nancy Pelosi was a more effective House speaker than any Republican this century.”

Mace makes it clear she clashes with Pelosi on just about every issue under the sun. But she admits the Democrat queen bee knew how to wield the gavel like a weapon, pushing through her party’s wildest dreams without flinching.

Pelosi got it: “No majority is permanent.” She was ruthless, ramming through progressive poison while Republicans cower in fear of losing their seats, opting for milquetoast compromises that sell out the base.

That’s the betrayal Mace hammers home. Democrats fight tooth and nail for their side, but GOP leaders pressure conservatives into accepting moderate slop, ignoring the coalition of everyday Americans who handed them the reins.

She gives a slight tip of the hat to current Speaker Mike Johnson, calling him “better than his predecessor.” Still, she warns that the rot runs deep, especially when it comes to how women in the party get treated like second-class citizens.

Mace calls out the House Republican Conference chair spot as “the token slot, the designated leadership role for the top woman in the conference, while the real power lies in other offices.”

She doesn’t stop there, taking a sharp jab at the current holder: “I’m sure Lisa McClain, the current chair of the House Republican Conference, is a wonderful cook. I’d wager she’s an even better legislator. But we’ll never know, because that’s not the box she’s been assigned.”

Wrapping up her takedown, Mace demands real change: “Let us vote. Let the people see. Let the chips fall. That’s democracy.”

This op-ed drops at a pivotal moment for Mace, who’s gunning for South Carolina governor and branding herself as “Trump in heels.”

Fellow firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene backs her up, hailing the piece as “masterfully written” and echoing the gripe that GOP women get shoved aside.

Greene, who’s ditching Congress herself, has long blasted the “p*ssing contest in Washington D.C. between the men.”
