Trump demolishes Chuck Schumer and there’s no coming back from it

Schumer’s star is waning. And this could be the nail in the coffin.

Because Trump demolished Chuck Schumer and there’s no coming back from it.

Trump’s Clash with Schumer Over Nominee Delays Sparks Outrage

President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery rebuke against Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Wednesday, accusing him of orchestrating an “extortion” scheme by stalling Trump’s nominees in the Senate.

Posting from his Truth Social platform, Trump decried the unprecedented backlog of his appointees, claiming such delays are a first in U.S. history.

Despite negotiations between Senate Republicans and Schumer to streamline the process, talks collapsed, leaving Trump’s picks in limbo.

Schumer’s Demands Fuel Accusations of Political Blackmail

In his post, Trump blasted Schumer, dubbing him “Cryin’ Chuck” and alleging the senator demanded $2 billion in funding for the National Institutes of Health and foreign aid as a condition for approving hundreds of Trump’s nominees.

“Politically embattled Senator, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, wants the Republicans to pay, as extortion, two billion dollars in order for the radical left Democrats to approve the hundreds of Trump appointments who have been waiting for months, and are raring to go,” Trump wrote.

He urged Republicans to draft legislation to break free from what he called “country-hating thugs,” emphasizing the need for swift action to counter the Democrats’ tactics.

Senate Republicans Push for Rule Changes Amid Frustration

With lawmakers leaving Washington on Monday without a resolution, Senate Republicans expressed growing exasperation over Democrats’ blanket filibustering of Trump’s nominees, with only Secretary of State Marco Rubio securing a smooth confirmation.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., signaled support for a potential rule change to bypass filibusters, allowing nominees to pass with a simple majority.

“I think that way is going to happen anyways, because of what Schumer has done. He’s forced this, and it’s ridiculous that he’s doing this,” Mullin said, framing the move as a necessary reaction to Democratic obstruction.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., echoed the sentiment, calling the nomination process “broken” and hinting at “robust conversations” to overhaul it.

Of over 1,200 Senate-confirmed positions, Republicans have cleared more than 130 of Trump’s picks, but over 140 remain stalled.
