The Democratic Party sold out their loyalties long ago. But this is a step too far even for them.
And two Democrats handed Hamas terrorists a shocking invitation to the USA.
Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Cori Bush (D-MO) were the only House Democrats to vote against a bill prohibiting Hamas members and those involved in last year’s attacks on Israel from entering the United States.
On Wednesday evening, the House passed the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act (422-2-1).
Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL) voted present, while Tlaib and Bush were the only votes against the proposal, which now moves to the Senate.
While Hamas and Palestine Islamic Jihad members were already barred from entering the United States under existing laws, the new bill now includes officers of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Palestinian enclave’s governing body, as well as anyone involved in the Oct. 7 attacks against Israel who is not a member of a terrorist organization.
Tlaib claimed in a statement that the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act was “unnecessary” and “redundant.”
“It’s just another GOP messaging bill being used to incite anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian, and anti-Muslim hatred that makes communities like ours unsafe,” said the Michigan Democrat, Congress’ lone Palestinian American.
“I made a promise to my residents when they sent me to Congress that I would take meaningful actions to end hateful Trump-era immigration policies, reunite families, welcome migrants and asylum seekers, and reform our immigration system,” she said.
“I reaffirm that commitment today, and will always speak truth to power in the face of disgusting attempts by my colleagues to dehumanize our immigrant neighbors.”
The Democratic caucus overwhelmingly supported the bill, emphasizing that it had the full support of House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jerry Nadler (D-NY).
“This bill is widely duplicative of current law, as Hamas has been designed as a terrorist organization by the State Department since 1997, and any noncitizen who has engaged in or provided material support for terrorism is in admissible to the United States,” the notice from House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) said.
Tlaib’s vote against the bill follows prior demands for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, as well as a vote against an Israel-supporting resolution in late October.
On Nov. 8, the House censured Tlaib for “promoting false narratives” regarding the October 7 attack on Israel and for calling for the “destruction of the state of Israel.”
Twenty-two Democrats joined all Republicans in backing the censure.
With politicians who would rather play nice with foreign terrorists than fight for their own citizens, Americans are furious.
It’s no wonder that Trump’s America First message resonates so much.
It isn’t “fascism” or “racism” or any other “-ism” the Left conjures up.
It’s the simple belief that the American government should work for Americans, not everyone around the world.
