U.S. congressman reveals secret as to why Democrats are failing in the polls

This is not what the Left wanted to hear. They need to regroup if they want a chance to win the midterms.

And a U.S. congressman revealed the secret as to why Democrats are failing in the polls.

During a recent broadcast of CNN News Central, Virginia Democrat Rep. Suhas Subramanyam offered a telling glimpse into the panic gripping his party.

The representative confronted the harsh reality of low approval ratings head on during the segment.

He attributed the dismal figures to widespread irritation among Democratic supporters themselves.

“Actually a lot of Democrats being mad at the Democratic Party right now,” Subramanyam confessed to the host.

Co-host John Berman had earlier laid out the polling data in clear terms, noting the generic congressional ballot advantage for Democrats alongside their even worse favorability score compared to Republicans.

With Republicans at 32 percent favorable and Democrats scraping by at 28 percent, the numbers expose a party struggling to connect with the public it claims to champion.

Berman directly challenged the congressman to account for this poor standing.

Subramanyam elaborated on the sources of that internal anger.

“They are concerned about the party’s ability to fight back against the Trump administration,” he stated plainly.

The lawmaker suggested that many Democrats feel their party lacks the spine needed to counter the current White House agenda.

He expanded on those worries by touching on organizational issues and future viability.

“They’re concerned about the structure of the party and the long-term outlook of the party and whether we will fight back when the Republicans break norms, for instance,” Subramanyam added.

In the eyes of these frustrated Democrats, any move by Republicans to deliver on their promises amounts to an unforgivable violation of Washington traditions.

The congressman went so far as to express partial understanding for the backlash.

“So, I think many of us have taken that as a call to action to try to combine and rally people, unite people around this idea that we need to be a good alternative to President Trump and the Republican Party,” he concluded.
