U.S. Senator went on Fox News to make this big confession about Donald Trump

There’s a civil war in Washington, D.C. The battle lines are being drawn right now.

And now a U.S. Senator has gone on Fox News to make this huge confession about Donald Trump.

Fetterman Supports Trump’s Immigration Crackdown, Urges Local Officials to Aid Deportations

Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, made waves during an appearance on Fox News Sunday when he expressed support for the Trump administration’s efforts to deport criminal illegal migrants. This stance comes at a time when local Democratic officials, particularly those in sanctuary cities, have been outspoken in their resistance to the federal government’s new immigration enforcement efforts under the second Donald Trump administration.

During the segment, host Shannon Bream asked Fetterman about the ongoing pushback from local officials against President Donald Trump’s aggressive deportation strategy. Specifically, Bream inquired whether local governments have an obligation to assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in investigating and deporting illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds.

Fetterman responded firmly, stating that local officials should indeed help enforce deportations of criminals. “I hope every local official would agree that anyone here — that any of the migrants that are here with criminal backgrounds are engaging in criminal behavior. I think they should support that,” he said. “Now if ICE comes to round them up I hope they would provide that kind of support.”

Since taking office, President Trump has made immigration enforcement a cornerstone of his administration. His first week in office saw a series of executive orders aimed at curbing illegal immigration, including declaring a national emergency at the southern border and classifying drug cartels as terrorist organizations. These measures were followed by a hardline stance on immigration, which reversed many of former President Joe Biden’s policies that were seen as more lenient toward illegal immigrants. Specifically, Trump’s administration allowed ICE agents to target “criminal aliens,” including those with violent criminal records such as r*pists and m*rderers.

Despite Fetterman’s support for deportations, he did draw a line when it came to certain enforcement tactics. “I certainly would never support terrorizing otherwise innocent migrants in those kinds of situations or kicking in a door at a school,” he clarified. “But I think we can all agree that every migrant here with a criminal background or engaging in criminal behavior all needs to go.”

The Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration has sparked heated opposition from Democratic mayors in cities such as Chicago, Tucson, and Denver. These local leaders have voiced their opposition to the president’s deportation plan, arguing that they have a duty to protect their communities from what they perceive as unjust policies. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, for example, recently emphasized that his city would continue to “protect civil and human rights” and remain a sanctuary for all migrants, regardless of their legal status.

These sanctuary cities have made it clear that they will not cooperate with federal immigration authorities in enforcing deportations. In response, officials within the Trump administration, including Border Czar Tom Homan and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem, have warned that the federal government will continue to conduct raids in these cities despite local resistance.

“The reality is, these sanctuary cities, their laws have caused us problems. They are limiting some of our tools that we want in our toolbox, but we’re going to continue to go in and use our operations and then show in other cities how it’s working and tell our story to the American people,” Noem stated during a recent Fox News appearance. Her comments underscored the administration’s resolve to continue its deportation efforts, even if local officials refuse to cooperate.

Increasing Pressure on Democrats to Back Trump’s Immigration Policies

Many Democrats are finding themselves under increasing pressure to back policies similar to those of the Trump administration. The vast majority of Americans have grown increasingly disillusioned with the unchecked flow of illegal immigrants, especially as crime and public safety concerns have intensified in certain regions.

Recent polling has revealed that a significant portion of the American public, including many Democrats, now favor stricter immigration controls and deportation policies. This shift in public opinion is forcing Democratic politicians, particularly those in swing states and districts, to reconsider their stances on immigration enforcement. From here on out, Democrats will have to balance their base’s progressive priorities with the mounting pressure to address the public’s concerns about illegal immigration.

Big name figures like Fetterman stand as examples of Democrats who are willing to speak out in favor of stricter enforcement measures, despite the opposition from more progressive factions within their party. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has also been a major Democrat voice drawing a line in the sand on illegal immigration.

What’s preventing many Democrats from backing Donald Trump’s sensible immigration policies that most Americans agree with is the potential for retaliation from the Democrat Party hierarchy for daring to speak out of line and out of lockstep with the Party agenda.

In fact, New York City’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams believes that he faced criminal charges specifically because he was critical of the Joe Biden administration’s handling of illegal immigration and national security as a whole. He argued that the investigations were a “payback” and a warning to any other Democrats who would think about aligning with Donald Trump and the American people on addressing illegal immigration once and for all.
