Hunter Biden may have been let off easy for tax crimes. But there’s way more in the Biden family closet.
And now witnesses are preparing testimony for Congress that has Joe Biden shaking in fear.
On Wednesday, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee will hold a public hearing to hear testimony from two IRS whistleblowers who were involved in the investigation of Hunter Biden. Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) claims that the evidence is relevant to his broader probe into President Joe Biden’s alleged misconduct.
Supervisory agent Gary Shapley, who has worked for the IRS for 14 years, and an IRS criminal investigator whose identity has been kept hidden, are the two whistleblowers who will be testifying.
After becoming “so upset over how the Democrats, including Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and others, have mischaracterized their integrity,” the Washington Examiner reports that the anonymous whistleblower, commonly known as “Agent X,” has decided to publicly testify.
Shapley and Agent X’s initial mission was to look into Hunter Biden. In June, they appeared before the House Ways and Means Committee and made their accusations public. They argued that the Department of Justice deliberately dragged its feet and attempted to cloud the issue for political reasons.
Authorities said they were unable to question Hunter Biden and that U.S. Attorney David Weiss of Delaware was precluded from filing charges in his home state. The request for Weiss to be designated as a special counsel was also denied.
The six-hour trial is being called a “court of public opinion.” Chairman Comer expects the leakers to show how the Bidens used shell companies and other methods of concealing their illicit financial activities from the public.
“I don’t think that a lot of people in the media understand what we’re talking about here,” Comer stated. “The Bidens created companies that aren’t legitimate companies. They don’t produce any goods or services. They don’t make anything. They don’t sell anything. And it appears the sole purpose of those companies was to launder money to hide the source of revenue, which were from foreign nationals.”
The Oversight chairman explained that “We’re gonna have some specific questions about some things that we think were violations of the law, and we’ll let these two witnesses answer that.”
“So, I think that these two people will have some insight, and maybe they can answer some questions for a confused media out there.”
Hunter Biden’s failure to register as a foreign agent during his time as a board member for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings LLC and the Chinese energy company CEFC, which has ties to the Chinese Communist Party, is also likely to be discussed during his testimony.
The potential for retaliation against the two whistleblowers is another topic that is likely to come up during the hearing.
The whistleblowers were taken off of the Biden probe once it became public that they had spoken to Congress. What’s more, Shapley said that he wasn’t promoted at the time.
Because of this, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo) has asked the Office of Special Counsel to look into the charges of retaliation that will be brought up at tomorrow’s hearing.
Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Chairman of the House Oversight Committee addressed a letter to the Office of Special Counsel on July 5 alleging that the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service had engaged in unlawful whistleblower retaliation against seasoned IRS employees.
It was also reported that “the whistleblower and the investigative team were removed from the Hunter Biden investigation by the IRS at DOJ’s request as retaliation for making protected whistleblower disclosures to Congress.”
If the Bidens thought they were in the clear after Hunter Biden received his sweetheart deal that let him off easy from tax crimes, they were wrong.
The House Republicans are not playing around. There’s plenty of evidence that could lead to serious charges of crime on the part of Hunter and Joe Biden.
Recently conducted polls have demonstrated that a growing majority of Americans believe that the Bidens are guilty of money laundering that came from Hunter Biden’s time as a board member at Burisma.
