Maher has never been known as a red-blooded conservative. But even he is tired of the woke hysteria.
And now Bill Maher unloaded on Leftist allies in a viral video rant.
Once the woke mob gets its teeth sunk into someone, you’re supposed to leave them to their fate.
Any sign of support or even a cry for tolerance of different views gets left unheard.
But not everyone is ready to bend the knee.
Bill Maher, a talk show host, ridiculed the anger surrounding Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s commencement speech at Benedictine College.
Maher mentioned the speech on the Friday episode of his show Real Time with Bill Maher. Butker, a practicing Catholic, spoke at the campus last weekend.
He stated that, while some female graduates were eager about their future employment, the majority were “most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
“I can’t express how much this guy is not like me. He’s religious. He loves marriage. He loves kids … And he’s now history’s greatest monster,” Maher said.
“Again, I don’t agree with much with this guy, but I don’t get the thing.”
Maher went on to quote Butker’s statement, which he described as “modern.”
The talk show host did not attempt to paraphrase Butker’s remarks on “bad policies and poor leadership” during the coronavirus pandemic, Pride Month being compared to a “deadly sin,” or premarital relationships.
When it comes to women marrying and having children, Maher acknowledged that there isn’t “only one way to be a good person, and that’s to get an advanced degree from one of those a**hole factories like Harvard.”
“I don’t see what the big crime is. I really don’t,” Maher said.
“And I think this is part of the problem people have with the left is that lots of people in this country are like this. Like he’s saying some of you may go on to lead successful careers, but a lot of you are excited about this other way that people- everybody used to be. And now can’t that be a choice too?”
Butker jerseys have since become the “most popular in Kansas City Chiefs” products, according to NFL.com.
Butker scored 13 points for his team in this year’s Super Bowl, including a 57-yard field goal, the longest in Super Bowl history. Butker has scored 37 points in four Super Bowls, the most ever by a kicker.
