Former Trump enemy breaks ranks with Democrats in a shocking twist

Everyone is jumping ship from Kamala and her cabal. Even those who used to hate Trump are back on his side.

And this former Trump enemy broke ranks with Democrats in a shocking twist.

MSNBC host Ari Melber was visibly taken aback when Gordon Sondland, a key figure in Trump’s impeachment trial, revealed his renewed support for the former president, citing how “badly” the Biden-Harris administration has managed the country.

Sondland, a prominent hotel magnate and Republican megadonor, served as Trump’s ambassador to the European Union and played a critical role in the 2019 impeachment inquiry.

His testimony about a “quid pro quo” between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky helped shape the narrative against Trump, making his latest political pivot all the more surprising.

In a striking moment, Melber revisited a clip where Sondland declared he was done supporting Trump after the January 6 Capitol riot. Melber asked if that sentiment still held.

Sondland, seated beside former Trump officials Peter Navarro and Sarah Matthews, didn’t hold back: “No, I don’t stand by it and I’ll tell you why,” he said, explaining that the policies of the Biden-Harris administration had changed his mind.

“I’ve now lived four years under the Biden-Harris policies, and I have to say that those policies are not only becoming an existential threat to our country’s way of life, but to our allies as well.”

Melber, clearly astonished, interrupted to ask, “You said it was a ‘no for me’ after January 6. And here we are right now, and you’re saying it’s a yes for you?”

Sondland didn’t flinch, confirming that he is indeed backing Trump and JD Vance over Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming election.

“It’s a yes for me. It is an absolute yes for me. That is how badly the Biden-Harris team have prosecuted their job.”

Melber, trying to reconcile Sondland’s switch, pressed on, highlighting that Sondland previously suggested that “an attack on democracy” like January 6 should outweigh any policy concerns.

Sondland countered, arguing that the current administration’s policies have led to “so many attacks on democracy that eclipse January 6.”

Matthews, who is supporting Kamala Harris, responded by saying she’s prioritizing the defense of democracy over policy in this election, viewing Trump as a significant threat.

Sondland shot back, “Policy matters greatly… because policy translates into our way of life and the way our country operates.”

While he admitted Trump’s handling of January 6 “was not an exemplary thing,” he maintained that Trump should have “admitted he lost the election and moved on.”

Nevertheless, the dismal performance of the Biden administration has led him to throw his support behind Trump once more.

Sondland’s previous testimony during Trump’s impeachment trial highlighted the “quid pro quo” orchestrated by Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, tying $391 million in military aid to Ukraine with investigations into the Bidens and the 2016 election.

While his involvement in that chapter of Trump’s presidency is well-documented, his latest endorsement emphasizes just how drastically his views on Trump and the Biden-Harris administration have shifted.
