The fight between Biden and Trump is reaching a fever pitch. Everyone in Washington is on the edge of their seats.
And Joe Biden is fuming after Trump made one demand of the Supreme Court.
The race for the White House is on, and it’s heating up faster than anyone expected.
As it stands, it looks like it will be a classic rematch before Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
And after the first fight back in 2020, Donald Trump wants to make sure there are no fouls on the play.
Former President Donald Trump stated on Friday that the Supreme Court “must intercede” in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation of him.
Trump pleaded not guilty to four charges related to his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.
In a post on Truth Social on Friday, he said the indictments against him are “election interference” that will take “massive amounts” of time and money, and he asked the Supreme Court to intervene.
“CRAZY! My political opponent has hit me with a barrage of weak lawsuits, including D.A., A.G., and others, which require massive amounts of my time & money to adjudicate,” Trump wrote.
“Resources that would have gone into Ads and Rallies, will now have to be spent fighting these Radical Left Thugs in numerous courts throughout the Country.”
“I am leading in all Polls, including against Crooked Joe, but this is not a level playing field. It is Election Interference, & the Supreme Court must intercede. MAGA!” he continued.
Legal analysts indicated this week that the accusations against Trump would almost certainly be overturned by the Supreme Court, and they chastised the special counsel for prosecuting protected speech in violation of the First Amendment.
“I think he may lose in the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, but he will probably win in the United States Supreme Court, if they grant review,” Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said on Fox News Wednesday.
“And they should grant review. When you have the president of the United States’ people going after his opponent in a political election, it has to be beyond reproach. It has to be without any problem. It has to be the strongest case in history. This doesn’t meet this standard.”
Tanya Chutkan, a U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Columbia, is overseeing Trump’s lawsuit. Chutkan previously worked at a law company that also hired Hunter Biden.
Of course, the fight between Biden and Trump could never come to pass.
There is a very real chance that Biden never makes it to the general election, and someone younger and more “with it” takes his spot.
And on the other hand, Trump may be leading, but there a lot of candidates in the primary that could pull a fast one on him.
Only time will tell.
