At north of 80-years-old, Joe Biden is no doubt slowing down. Which makes his 2024 campaign a head-scratcher.
But Joe Biden just proved he’s a puppet president when he made this surprising confession.
Joe Biden, speaking to campaign contributors on Tuesday, said that democracy is “more at risk in 2024” and that Donald Trump and his associates are attempting to “destroy” democratic foundations; he added that he wasn’t certain he’d run for reelection were Trump not also running for election in 2024.
With the help of three fundraisers, the president warned his predecessor about the consequences of reclaiming the presidency, pointing out that Trump has called himself the “retribution” of his voters.
“We’ve got to get it done, not because of me. …If Trump wasn’t running I’m not sure I’d be running. We cannot let him win,” Biden admitted to the surprise of donors in the room.
The current Republican leading candidate, Trump, who is facing criminal charges related to his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election, attempted to turn the tables on Biden over the weekend by labeling him the “destroyer of American democracy.”
Sean Hannity of Fox News Channel challenged President Trump on Tuesday to affirm that he “would never abuse power as retribution against anybody.”
“Except for day one,” Trump answered Mr. Hannity. “I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill.”
“After that I’m not a dictator,” Trump concluded.
During a meeting with Democratic donors on Tuesday, President Joe Biden said he probably wouldn’t be seeking another term if former President Donald Trump wasn’t running again.https://t.co/l8s2osAluS

This has stoked the flames of the rumors that Joe Biden won’t even make it to the 2024 general election season before he either voluntarily steps down or is forced out as the Democrat nominee.
It’s not just conservatives and Republicans who are suggesting that Joe Biden won’t be the eventual Democrat nominee for 2024. Even high profile Democrats are murmuring about the same thing.
The leading theory at this time is that California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom will be stepping in at some point to relieve Joe Biden of his duty so that he can run and have a better shot against someone like Donald Trump.
While it is true that Gavin Newsom overall would likely be a better candidate than Joe Biden in 2024, the circumstances are different considering that Joe Biden is an incumbent.
Should Joe Biden step aside and let Newsom, or some other Democrat, take the reins as the Democrat presidential nominee, it likely won’t sit well with the American people at all.
Whatever success Newsom might have in a clean slate election like 2028 or 2032 will be greatly diminished just by the fact that the American independent voting base will have a bad taste in their mouth about the Democrat Party in 2024.
So the Democrats are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They know that Joe Biden is maybe the most vulnerable incumbent President ever since Jimmy Carter, but they also know they can’t just hand off the reins to the sitting Vice President Kamala Harris because she’s viewed even more unfavorably than Joe Biden himself.
They also can’t just nix the the Biden administration entirely and seek out a third party Democrat like Gavin Newsom because of how bad that could be for the independent voters who would see right through their games.
DON’T BE FOOLED by Gavin Newsom vetoing one bill — it’s only to appear moderate for his shadow 2024 presidential campaign! I joined Newsmax to discuss Newsom’s strategy: pic.twitter.com/0paVu20VQo

All this is pretty much exactly what Donald Trump wants. Unless something major happens to change the election calculus in the next 11 months, it’s hard to see Donald Trump losing to Joe Biden a second time. Unless, of course, there’s some reason why Americans all have to vote from their homes once again…
