Kamala Harris is the last thing this country needs. And now we’re learning more about her sordid past.
Because leaked video of Kamala Harris just sunk her campaign instantly.
A resurfaced clip of Vice President Kamala Harris from 2017, where she calls on “everybody” to be “woke,” has reignited controversy on social media.
Critics and conservatives are seizing the opportunity to label the Democratic nominee as a “Communist functionary” who is “too radical” to serve as president.
“We have to stay woke. Like everybody needs to be woke. And you can talk about if you’re the wokest or woker, but just stay more woke than less woke,” then-Sen. Harris stated in 2017 during Recode’s annual Code Conference, held alongside philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
The conference, which centered on issues like immigration and the environment, saw Harris lambasting the Trump administration’s drug and immigration policies just moments before urging Americans to “stay woke.”
“I get upset when we say we’re going to shut our door to refugees who are fleeing such atrocities and have been standing in line for two years to qualify for refugee status, and they arrive here, and we turn them away. Yes, I’m gonna get mad about that. I’m gonna get mad when we have an attorney general who’s trying to resuscitate the war on drugs. And he thinks the greatest evil that mankind has ever seen is marijuana. … Leave grandma’s medical marijuana alone,” Harris declared.
Harris reiterated her stance in a message posted to X a day later, saying: “We have to stay active. We have to stay woke.”

The term “woke” gained traction in 2017, with dictionaries like Oxford and Merriam-Webster adding it to their lexicons, defining it as being attentive to social justice issues.
However, it has since become a buzzword for left-wing agendas.
Seven years after the 2017 conference, critics are attacking the presumptive Democratic nominee over the clip.
Conservative author James Lindsay described Harris as a “Communist functionary,” writing, “Kamala is a low-level Communist functionary, and I’m tired of being told we have to pretend she’s not.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris campaign for comment on the clip and criticism but did not receive an immediate response.
This clip surfaces in the wake of President Biden dropping out of the 2024 presidential race late last month, subsequently endorsing his vice president to run for the White House in his stead.
Harris officially secured her party’s 2024 presidential nomination on Friday, earning a majority of votes from convention delegates, according to the DNC.
With fewer than 100 days to go before November 5, Harris is now focused on courting voters as she prepares to face off against former President Donald Trump.
As Harris ramps up her campaign, critics are dredging up various news articles and video clips, such as her support for the “defund the police” movement in 2020 and her praise for a pastor who blamed the U.S. for the 9/11 attacks.
Harris is expected to announce her running mate soon and will head to Chicago later this month for the Democratic National Convention.
