The election is wrapping up. All that has to happen is for voters to cast a ballot.
But Trump just received a letter with a bombshell last-minute election notice.
Usually there isn’t much in the way of things to do at this point in a presidential campaign. Most everyone has made up their minds and it’s time to just drive Get-Out-The-Vote campaigns to turnout your voting base. Endorsements don’t usually come in this late, either.
That changes, every once in a while, though. In the swing state of Pennsylvania, the Trump campaign received a letter indicating that they’ve been endorsed by a vast majority of the county sheriffs in the whole state. The endorsements from a vast majority of the sheriffs in the State of Pennsylvania is crucial to win over the independent voters in the state who put a premium on law and order as an issue moving forward.
Majority of Pennsylvania County Sheriffs Endorse Trump, Cite Support for Law Enforcement and Border Security
In a significant show of support for former President Donald Trump, a majority of county sheriffs in Pennsylvania’s battleground counties endorsed his 2024 presidential campaign on Thursday. A letter signed by 49 of the state’s 67 county sheriffs praised Trump for his leadership, emphasizing his commitment to law enforcement and border security.
The sheriffs, representing counties across Pennsylvania, said they are “confident in his leadership and ability to safeguard our country.” The endorsement comes as Trump continues to solidify his base in a state that will play a pivotal role in the 2024 election.
The letter, first obtained and reported on by Fox News, outlined two primary concerns that sheriffs regularly hear from their constituents: a desire for safer communities and opposition to defunding the police. The sheriffs stated that these concerns have driven their support for Trump’s candidacy.
“As elected law enforcement officers in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, we consistently hear two messages from our constituents and neighbors: that they want safe communities for their families and children, and that they oppose radical defund-the-police agendas by career politicians,” the sheriffs wrote. “That is why we are proudly standing with President Donald J. Trump and wholeheartedly endorse his candidacy for President of the United States.”
The letter also highlighted Trump’s longstanding support for law enforcement, noting that even before his first presidential campaign, he had “stood shoulder-to-shoulder with police and law enforcement.” The sheriffs emphasized that Trump remains the only candidate who continues to support law and order, as well as the crucial role of law enforcement in maintaining safety.

“This is most evident with our Southern Border,” the sheriffs added, pointing to the challenges posed by the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of immigration and border security. They specifically cited the surge in illegal immigration and the resulting public safety concerns, including the increased flow of dangerous drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine into Pennsylvania communities.
“World leaders respected President Trump, and border crossings fell,” the letter continued. “Without his strong leadership, our border has been swung open — open to thousands of border crossers each day and unimaginable quantities of lethal drugs such as fentanyl and methamphetamine that are pouring right into Pennsylvania communities, bringing crime and devastation to countless families.”
The sheriffs stressed that immigration is not just a concern for border states, but an issue that affects communities nationwide, including Pennsylvania. They argued that Trump’s administration effectively secured the U.S. southern border and enforced immigration laws, reducing illegal crossings and curbing the flow of illicit substances.
“President Trump understands that we cannot have a functioning country without borders,” they stated. “He understands the destruction that an open border has brought to our country, our commonwealth, and our communities. He understands the critical role that law enforcement plays in maintaining safety, stability, law and order. And that’s why we are confident in his leadership and his ability to safeguard our country.”
The sheriffs also expressed their unwavering support for Trump’s continued backing of law enforcement, declaring, “We know that President Trump backs the blue, and we are proud to back him as the 47th President of the United States of America.”
As the 2024 election cycle heats up, Pennsylvania remains a key battleground state, and recent polling indicates a competitive race. According to Fox News’ Power Rankings as of Thursday, the matchup between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is currently considered a toss-up in the state.
Worthy of note is that this cycle Donald Trump is performing far better in the polls than he ever did in 2016 or in 2020. Obviously, in one of those elections he had a resounding win and nearly won in the other.
