The radical Left gets to play by a different set of rules. They may never be held to account for their crimes.
And a felon Biden official just got released from prison for this ridiculous reason.
Democrats have been getting off from criminal charges for decades.
Who can forget when Hillary Clinton was found to have a secret email server with classified information on it, but the DOJ refused to charge her with a crime?
Or Biden using his political power to coerce Ukraine into ceasing their investigation into his son Hunter?
The rules may be written into law, but it takes prosecutors and judges to hold anyone accountable.
And, unfortunately, the Left has spent decades stacking the courts and DA offices with their political allies.
Now one Biden official who was charged with felony theft is back on the streets.
Sam Brinton, a former Biden administration staffer who made headlines last year as the White House’s first gender-fluid bureaucrat, appeared in court on Wednesday to face allegations of stealing bags from the Minneapolis airport last year.
Brinton, who was Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Energy Department’s Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposal at the time, was charged with a crime last October after being suspected of stealing a piece of luggage, according to KMSP-TV.
Brinton’s first court appearance was supposed to occur on December 19, but it was moved back to Wednesday. Brinton attempted to appear online but was told that first appearances on felonies need in-person attendance.
Brinton appeared at the Minneapolis Public Safety Center on Wednesday and was released without posting bail, according to KARE. He was merely restrained by a warning not to contact the victim.
Brinton, according to the station, is able to appear in court through Zoom for the remainder of the proceedings.
According to the Daily Mail, Brinton was bombarded by media inquiries on his way out of court, none of which he answered.
Sam Brinton, a non-binary former Biden administration staffer, leaves court after appearing before a judge for stealing a woman’s luggage in October.
“Why would you want some lady’s dirty clothes?” one reporter asked while another referenced improper conduct of a past Minnesota politician.
According to court documents obtained by KARE, Brinton was seen collecting a suitcase that matched the description of one that had been reported lost.
According to court documents, Brinton admitted stealing the luggage but claimed the contents were left in his hotel room when he returned to Washington. Nothing was found, according to police.
According to KLAS-TV, Brinton was fired by the Department of Energy in December after being charged with a similar suitcase theft case in Nevada.
Brinton was charged with grand larceny after police said security video showed him acting strangely while stealing a piece of baggage containing more than $3,600 in things, including jewelry.
“Specifically, Brinton pulled the victim’s luggage from the carousel and examined the tag. Then placed it back on the carousel, looking in all directions for anyone who might be watching, or might approach. Pulling it back off the carousel and demonstrating the same behavior by looking around before walking away with it quickly,” his arrest warrant said.
Brinton has been released on $15,000 bail for the Nevada accusation, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The victim’s possessions from the Minneapolis airport have not been returned to her as of December.
