Obama hasn’t been in office for years. But that isn’t going to save him.
And now Barack Obama is sweating bullets after Trump uncovered this hidden secret.
The Obama administration’s dealings with Iran are coming under renewed scrutiny, as a bombshell report reveals how the State Department—under then-Secretary John Kerry—actively interfered with law enforcement efforts targeting Iranian criminals.
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released a damning report on Tuesday, packed with whistleblower testimony and internal documents exposing how the Obama State Department obstructed FBI and DOJ operations against Iranian targets.
This interference, according to the report, coincided with the administration’s desperate push for a nuclear deal with Tehran.
Grassley did not mince words in his reaction to the findings, calling the report “chilling” and accusing the Obama administration of having “jeopardiz[ed] our national security.”
According to the report, the meddling only ceased once President Donald Trump took office in 2017, reversing course and taking a hardline stance against Iran.
“Democrats’ historic refusal to get tough on Iran emboldened its regime and allowed Tehran to continue funding global acts of terrorism, like what we saw on October 7, 2023,” Grassley said.
“We should all be breathing a sigh of relief President Trump is back in the White House to restore American strength on the world stage and hold Iran accountable for its evil acts.”
One particularly shocking revelation in the report alleges that Kerry personally intervened in at least one case, ordering officials to “stand down on an arrest.”
This direct interference in law enforcement actions raises serious questions about the administration’s true priorities.
“The State Department and Obama-Biden administration officials persistently and systematically derailed criminal and national security investigations, creating a shadow amnesty program that protected scores of additional Iranian criminals,” a whistleblower revealed.
The report describes a troubling pattern where FBI offices abandoned numerous Iran-related investigations and U.S. Attorneys dropped prosecutions due to persistent obstruction from the State Department and DOJ.
The whistleblower disclosures include FBI emails that detail exactly how the Obama administration’s interference shielded Iranian officials—some of whom had active warrants and were under U.S. sanctions.
“According to unclassified FBI email records, before and after the Iran Nuclear Deal was finalized, the State Department prevented the FBI and other U.S. law enforcement agencies from enforcing U.S. sanctions and export control violations against Iranians and actively obstructed their pursuit to arrest these individuals,” the report states.
Further testimony exposes how “Obama-Biden administration officials in the State Department and DOJ refused to allow already-indicted criminals investigated for years from being arrested on lawfully issued arrest warrants.”
All of this occurred while Kerry and the Obama administration were negotiating the highly controversial Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal.
While the Biden administration tried to revive the agreement by claiming it prevents Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, critics have long warned that it lacks the enforcement mechanisms needed to keep Iran in check.
This new report adds to the mounting evidence that the Obama administration’s obsession with securing a deal with Iran came at a high cost—undermining American law enforcement and emboldening a regime that continues to spread terror worldwide.
