The world is on the brink of war. All on the watch of the Biden-Harris administration.
And now Biden and Harris have announced this dangerous war ultimatum.
Americans have for months now been growing louder in their support for real peace talks and efforts in regions like the Middle East and in Eastern Europe to prevent the world from devolving into yet another barbaric international war. Not only that, but Americans are more concerned about their fellow brothers and sisters in the homeland than they are about sending taxpayer dollars to be constantly spent overseas.
The Biden-Harris administration, though, has been working overtime to keep these war efforts going. Their efforts to cool down the war fronts has actually fanned the flames. The latest example is the way they are telling Israel that they can continue to receive more taxpayer dollars if they just simply give more humanitarian support to those in Gaza.
Biden-Harris Administration Demands Increase in Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
On Tuesday, the Biden-Harris administration issued a firm ultimatum to Israel, stating that the country has 30 days to enhance the flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip or risk losing access to U.S. weapons funding. This announcement underscores growing concerns regarding the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The ultimatum was communicated through a letter sent by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to Israeli officials on October 13. The correspondence came in the wake of a devastating Israeli airstrike on a hospital tent complex in central Gaza, which Israel claimed was being used as a Hamas command center.
The letter, which was shared online by an Axios reporter, calls for Israel to escalate the level of daily humanitarian aid to 350 trucks. It also demands the implementation of additional humanitarian pauses in fighting and increased security for designated humanitarian zones. Blinken and Austin attributed the humanitarian challenges to the “onerous liability and customs requirements” and new vetting procedures established by Israel.
“We are particularly concerned that recent actions by the Israeli government, including halting commercial imports, denying or impeding 90 percent of humanitarian movements,” they noted, emphasizing that these actions have significantly hindered aid delivery.
If Israel fails to “reverse the downward humanitarian trajectory” within the stipulated timeframe, the letter warns that it “may have implications” for future weapons transfers and funding under the Foreign Assistance Act, which prohibits U.S. aid to countries that restrict the delivery of U.S. humanitarian assistance.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller confirmed the authenticity of the letter, stating it was intended as a private communication. White House national security spokesman John Kirby clarified that the letter was “not meant as a threat,” but rather a reflection of the “urgency” regarding the need for a significant increase in humanitarian aid.
A senior defense official likened the recent letter to one Blinken sent in April, which sought “concrete measures from the Israelis.”
This recent diplomatic engagement marks one of the most pronounced rhetorical escalations since President Biden indicated he would consider withholding specific American weapon shipments to Israel if Prime Minister Netanyahu proceeded with military action in Rafah, the last major Hamas stronghold.
In a recent phone call with Netanyahu, Biden underscored the necessity of “restoring access to the north,” urging the reinvigoration of aid corridors from Jordan.
Meanwhile, COGAT, the Israeli agency responsible for aid distribution in Gaza, refuted claims of obstructing aid, asserting, “Israel has not halted the entry or coordination of humanitarian aid.”
The United Nations has been vocally critical of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, with a UN investigator previously accusing Israel of executing a “starvation campaign.”
In response, an Israeli prime minister’s office spokesperson stated, “It is unfortunately UNRWA and others, and the World Food Program is another one, who simply spend their time perpetuating this conflict rather than pulling their finger out and actually doing the job which they were designed to do. Stop blaming Israel.”
Back states-side, Donald Trump and his campaign has been hammering home with voters on the campaign trail that the Biden-Harris campaign is completely incompetent in actually ending the wars in regions like the Middle East.
Surveys indicate that Americans have a shrinking stomach for their taxpayer dollars being sent all over the world for proxy wars when there continue to be domestic issues that millions of Americans are facing.
