He didn’t stop there, insisting that Biden was the guy keeping his staff on their toes. “That’s the President Biden that so many of us experience every single day, who’s asking the tough questions so that we as staff can be sharp to do our job best for the American people.”
Sams doubled down, making it personal while speaking about Joe Biden. “When I deal with him, he is sharp. He’s asking tough questions.”
That clip exploded online, a stark slap in the face to the frail, confused Biden everyone saw debating Trump. It was classic Washington smoke and mirrors, designed to gaslight the public into doubting their own eyes.
Fast forward to August, and Sams sang a different tune when speaking to the House Oversight Committee investigators. The transcript, dropped on Tuesday, pulls back the curtain on his so-called interactions with the president.
“The first time I met President Biden personally was in a meeting, maybe in early 2024,” he stated to committee investigators. “…I interacted with him pretty infrequently.”
Probed for details, Sams confessed to just a handful of encounters over his two-plus years in the Biden White House. He claimed direct dealings “three or four times,” including two face-to-face chats, one phone call, and a virtual huddle.
Even cornered, Sams clung to his MSNBC fairy tale, dismissing any whiff of misleading the masses. “I think it was pretty direct and honest and said that when I do deal with him he’s, you know, sharp and he was asking incisive questions during my meetings with him,” he said.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, the Kentucky Republican leading the charge, didn’t mince words. He slammed Sams’ testimony as “one of the most shocking” from ex-Biden insiders grilled in the panel’s probe into the autopen scandal.
