CNN analyst digs up new Russia allegations against President Trump in unhinged rant

The Left just can’t let it go. Now they’re going off the deep end.

Because a CNN analyst dug up new Russia allegations against President Trump in this unhinged rant.

Trump Administration Declassifies Report, Reigniting Russiagate Debate

CNN National Security Analyst Beth Sanner recently criticized the Trump administration’s declassification of a 2020 House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence report, accusing it of promoting “cherry-picked examples” that challenge the narrative of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The report, released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, alleges that the Obama administration, through then-CIA Director John Brennan, published “potentially biased” or “implausible” intelligence claiming Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed to help Donald Trump win in 2016. Sanner argued on CNN, “What I don’t appreciate is that these are cherry-picked examples… when we have volumes of reporting.”

The so-called Russiagate saga began in 2016 with allegations of Trump campaign collusion with Russia, fueled by the Steele dossier—a discredited document funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) through Perkins Coie.

The dossier’s unverified claims underpinned FISA warrants against Trump aide Carter Page, but Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s 2019 investigation found no evidence of criminal conspiracy.

Gabbard Exposes Obama-Era Intelligence Missteps

The declassified report claims that, at then-President Barack Obama’s direction, Brennan ordered the post-election release of 15 intelligence reports, three of which were “substandard” and became foundational to the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) asserting Putin’s preference for Trump.

Gabbard, in a White House press briefing on July 23, 2025, stated, “There is irrefutable evidence that details how President Obama and his national security team directed the creation of an intelligence community assessment that they knew was false.”

This echoes findings from a July 28, 2016, Brennan memo, obtained by Fox News in 2020, noting a Clinton campaign advisor’s plan to “vilify” Trump with Russian interference claims.

The “Crossfire Hurricane” FBI probe, launched in 2016, relied heavily on the Steele dossier, later deemed “internet rumor” by intelligence officials.

Special Counsel John Durham’s 2023 report further criticized the FBI’s handling, noting it ignored warnings of Clinton-led manipulation.

Russiagate’s Legacy and Ongoing Transparency Efforts

The Russiagate controversy, rooted in 2016 allegations of Trump-Russia collusion, has shaped political discourse for years.

The Steele dossier, costing the Clinton campaign and DNC $12 million, alleged ties between Trump and Russian operatives but was discredited as unverified and uncorroborated.

Despite this, it fueled a two-year Mueller investigation, media frenzy, and public distrust, with no evidence of collusion found.

Sanner argued that Russia’s interference aimed to “undermine our confidence in our democracy,” warning that revisiting the issue could serve Russian interests.

Conversely, Trump and Gabbard assert that declassifying such reports corrects a false narrative propagated by Obama’s team, including officials like James Clapper, Susan Rice, and Andrew McCabe.

The 2020 Senate Intelligence Committee report, led by Marco Rubio, confirmed Russian interference but found no vote manipulation, a point Obama’s spokesman emphasized in dismissing Trump’s claims as “bizarre.”
